Senior Resort Engineer Job Description

This is a critical role that contributes to the success of our luxury hotel resort team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage daily engineering operations, including maintenance of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical infrastructure.
  • Supervise the engineering team to ensure efficient task completion and safety adherence.
  • Conduct regular inspections of resort facilities to maintain compliance with safety regulations, local codes, and standards.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs to protect physical assets and maximize longevity.
  • Promote energy conservation programs and implement sustainable practices to minimize environmental impact.
  • Respond promptly to emergencies and breakdowns, coordinating repairs with minimal disruption to guests.
  • Assist with financial planning, managing vendor contracts, procuring equipment, and tracking departmental expenditures.
  • Evaluate and address maintenance requests from guests or other departments in a timely manner.
  • Train, develop, and mentor the engineering team to ensure high work standards and a commitment to safety.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • A degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field.
  • 5-7 years of experience in hotel or resort engineering operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems commonly found in hospitality properties.
  • Familiarity with local building codes, safety regulations, and sustainability practices.
  • Effective leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Good communication skills and collaboration with other departments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in engineering software, preventive maintenance programs, and Microsoft Office.
