Job Title:
Engineering Delivery Lead

Description:
A strategic leader responsible for guiding engineering teams to achieve successful project delivery within predetermined budgets, timelines, and quality standards. This role involves coordinating and monitoring the execution of engineering tasks across the entire project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage engineering activities effectively within project constraints, ensuring compliance with approved architecture, design policy, contracts, and quality requirements.
  • Lead collaborative discussions and co-engineering between internal teams, vendors, and customers to analyze, prioritize, and validate stakeholder requirements.
  • Ensure that engineering scope, plans, and activities meet customer needs and are delivered on time, within budget, and to the required quality standard.
  • Closely collaborate with Design Authority to oversee and approve the outcome of evaluation studies on design alternatives and provide advice to both the customer and internal technical teams.
  • Through broad consultation, ensure the production of required documentation in support of the project to the satisfaction of the customer and internal senior management.
  • Liaise with customers on technical, architectural, and procedural issues as required, ensuring scope creep is avoided.
  • Define the engineering work breakdown structure, project organization structure, task schedule, engineering KPIs, and associated engineering tasks, tailoring as needed and ensuring all baseline requirements are met.
  • Regularly monitor defined KPIs and address promptly any issues discovered (such as risks of changes, schedule, anomalies, etc.) according to different project phases.
  • Perform periodic reporting to internal senior management and customer according to Thales methodology (Chorus) and common methods such as SAFe/SCRUM.
  • Ensure the implementation of multi-project synergies and lessons learned to optimize cost of technical solutions.
  • Manage engineering risks and opportunities during bids and project phase, guaranteeing program commitments, including those flowed down to subcontractors and partners.
  • Optimize technical work against costs, schedule, and risks from design to validation and acceptance of the solution.
  • Develop and implement policies, standards, and procedures for engineering and technical work performed, in conjunction with the functional Engineering Head or Director.
  • Manage Work Package Managers (WPM) and Integration Verification, Validation, and Qualification (IVVQ) Manager to ensure successful completion of respective milestones.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline
  • Experience working within a Systems Engineering lifecycle
  • Experience in IT/security/C2/defense-related projects from a Systems Engineering perspective
  • Good knowledge of how large projects are managed
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Strong liaison and stakeholders management skills
  • Strong motivation to be involved in all phases of a project life cycle, from bids to project completion
