Marine Superintendent Role

This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with HSQE policies and procedures on board vessels. The Marine Superintendent monitors vessel operations, responds to HSQE reports in a timely manner, and implements practical procedures to meet HSQE Objectives and Policies as required.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop, implement, and revise procedures to meet HSQE Objectives and Policies as required.
  • Ensure fleet vessels comply with SOLAS, MARPOL, STCW, MLC regulations, SIRE, and Oil Major's requirements.
  • Prepare and participate in audits according to TMSA requirements.
  • Implement cargo and ballast procedures on board and verify plans for safety compliance.
  • Review and verify passage plans to ensure navigation practices meet industry standards.
  • Monitor SIRE Vetting Inspections status of fleet vessels and arrange inspections as necessary.
  • Liaise with Masters to prepare vessels for PSC and FSC inspections, responding to deficiencies and closing out observations in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate preparation, approval, and maintenance of procedure manuals and plans as required by international conventions.
  • Coordinate flag registrations, takeovers, or handovers of vessels.
  • Issue and amend trading and statutory certificates in close liaison with Technical and Insurance departments.
  • Communicate with Charterers/Commercial Operators for pre- and post-fixing voyage-related matters.
  • Assist crewing department to meet Officer's Matrix requirements and participate in crew change planning.
  • Familiarize vessels with International Environmental regulations and assist with compliance.
  • Monitor vessels' operation within expected CII rating and update Owners/Charterers on the rating.
  • Assist Head of Department in Marine, Operation, and Safety matters.
  • Approve hot work permits and follow up with technical, safety, and vessel teams for safe execution.
  • Review and respond to monthly safety minutes and guide vessels as necessary.
  • Participate in company emergency response and drills.
  • Lead incidents and accidents investigations and submit reports on time.
  • Conduct internal audits (ISM, ISPS, MLC, Mooring, Cargo, and Navigation) and safety inspections on board fleet vessels.
  • Sail on board vessels as required.
