Flavour Development Specialist

Our organisation is seeking a skilled professional to fill the role of a Flavourist Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for preparing and mixing flavour samples with accuracy and efficiency.

  • Ensure Quality Control: You will need to ensure that all produced flavour samples meet quality control standards by accurately following recipes and procedures.
  • Library Management: You will be required to manage and maintain a comprehensive library of sweet flavours and ingredients, ensuring their organisation and accessibility for ease of use.
  • Sensory Tests and Experiments: You will support the technical team during sensory tests and experiments, providing crucial data and insights to aid in product development.
  • Waste Disposal: You will safely dispose of waste materials generated from flavour sampling and laboratory activities.
  • Lab Supplies Management: You will maintain accurate records of lab supplies, including glass bottles and raw materials, to ensure timely replenishment and avoid stockouts.
  • Equipment Maintenance: You will operate, calibrate, clean and maintain all equipment and work areas in the laboratory to guarantee efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Raw Materials Storage: You will store raw materials at optimal temperatures to preserve their quality and potency.
  • Laboratory Tests: You will perform routine laboratory tests and record results, contributing valuable insights into the flavour development process.
  • Culture of Cleanliness: You will implement a culture of cleanliness and safety in the lab, adhering to environmental management systems and company policies.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: A GCE 'O' Level or NITEC in Chemical Process Technology qualification, or possess equivalent relevant experience.
  • Knowledge and Skills: Fundamental knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
  • Experience: Prior experience in a related field is advantageous, but not essential.
