Network Engineer Role

We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our organization. As a key member of our network operations team, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining our production network and internet peering strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Taking part in production network and internet peering strategies
  • Working with networking technologies relative to content delivery network, monitoring capacity, and peering traffic
  • Performing day-to-day activities involving working on multiple vendor servers and various software and hardware issues
  • Working with multiple TAC vendors to fix hardware issues
  • Handling traffic and other queries raised by ISP/partners
  • Driving the first level of escalations reported by the team
  • Preparing technical and process MOPs and circulating them with other team leads
  • Supporting the team in handling network and traffic peering for Layer 1 to Layer 3 issues
  • Driving data insights and reporting them as required
  • Participating in multiple meetings and providing weekly presentations related to network performance and escalations
  • Working with ISP/vendors to fix issues related to the network
  • Jointly working with regional and other region team leads
  • Providing 24/7 support with other teams across the globe

Requirements:

  • Possessing a Bachelor's degree (B.S/B.A) and 7+ years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Able to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Exercising judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action
  • Knowledge in network and traffic peering
  • Knowledge in fiber-optic technology including cable types, connector types, optic types, patch panels, and optical transport technologies
  • Able to prepare root cause analysis for any network and server outages
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work with service providers, colocation facilities, and ISPs around the world
  • Knowledgeable about different network protocols like OSPF/ISIS and BGP
  • Deep knowledge in DWDMs involving multiple vendors
  • Knowledgeable on Layer 1-3 troubleshooting
  • Possessing CCNP/JNCIP certification
  • Any expertise in the field of optical is a plus
