
Strategic People Manager

This role is responsible for overseeing the management of HR teams across Singapore, Jakarta and Bangkok. It involves working closely with South East Asia practices and functions to ensure effective people management that aligns with the firm's strategic priorities.
Primary areas of focus are:
1. Headcount management: Monitor and review the size and shape of offices, ensuring flexibility in resource allocation between practices.
2. Talent management: Identify high potential performers and develop a development and retention plan for them.
3. Performance management: Support leaders in managing performance reviews across the office.
4. Career management and promotion: Support business leaders in managing the careers of their people in an open and constructive way.
5. Diversity and inclusion: Identify opportunities and support the development and implementation of office-wide diversity, inclusion and wellbeing activities.
Key responsibilities include:
- Manage the SEA HR Team which consists of 1 HR Manager, 2 HR Advisors and 2 HR Assistants.
- Work in partnership with regional and global HR teams.
- Collaborate with the lateral recruitment team.
- Manage local headcount reporting.
The ideal candidate will have proven experience as an HR business partner in a legal industry or blue-chip organisation. They should possess strong influencing skills, be able to build trust and respect, and have a proactive and self-motivated approach to work.
Essential skills and qualifications include:
- University graduate with strong technical HR knowledge.
- Practical experience as an HR Business Partner.
- Proven ability to coach individuals and manage employee relations issues.
- Experience of HR practices in talent, change, engagement and/or performance.
