An Assistant Manager in a Western restaurant is responsible for supporting the Restaurant Manager in overseeing day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth service delivery, maintaining quality standards, manpower shortage, staff training, inventory control, and achieving operational goals, all while upholding the restaurant's Western culinary and service style.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational Management:
- Assist the Restaurant Director in managing all aspects of the restaurant operations, including front-of-house and back-of-house functions.
- Monitor service standards and ensure consistent quality of food and beverage presentation.
- Oversee daily operations, including staff scheduling, station assignments, and ensuring proper execution of service procedures.
- Address customer concerns promptly and professionally to maintain guest satisfaction.
- Staff Supervision and Training:
- Lead and motivate the service team, providing coaching and feedback to improve performance.
- Conduct regular staff training on new menu items, service standards, and operational procedures.
- Identify training needs and develop staff skills to enhance their knowledge of Western cuisine and dining etiquette.
- Monitor staff performance and address any issues related to service quality or compliance.
- Inventory and Cost Control:
- Manage food and beverage inventory levels to minimize waste and optimize profitability.
- Conduct regular inventory checks and analyze usage patterns to identify areas for cost reduction.
- Monitor food cost percentages and take corrective actions when necessary.
- Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure adherence to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Monitor compliance with restaurant policies and procedures, including dress code and operational guidelines.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Western restaurant environment, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage staff and interact with guests.
- Strong understanding of Western cuisine, service standards, and dining etiquette.
- Proficiency in inventory management and cost control practices.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of POS systems and restaurant management software.
- Singaporean / Foreign Worker is available
