Roles & Responsibilities

1. Deployment and Assignment of Security Personnel:
  • Scheduling and Assigning: Coordinate the deployment of security staff to specific locations, ensuring that the right personnel are assigned to each shift based on the needs of the site or client.
  • Shift Planning: Create and manage duty rosters for security staff, ensuring adequate coverage for different shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • On-the-Job Supervision: Ensure security personnel are deployed correctly and are fulfilling their roles effectively by conducting spot checks and providing on-the-job guidance.
2. Monitoring Security Operations:
  • Operational Oversight: Monitor the security operations of assigned sites to ensure that security officers are carrying out their duties in accordance with the established protocols and procedures.
  • Incident Monitoring: Track security incidents or events that may arise during deployment, ensuring that issues are resolved quickly and in line with company procedures.
  • Reporting: Ensure that all incidents and activities are documented properly and that reports are submitted in a timely manner to the relevant authorities or management.
3. Staff Management:
  • Performance Supervision: Assess the performance of security officers, providing feedback, guidance, and support where necessary. This includes monitoring attendance, punctuality, and adherence to company policies.
  • Training and Development: Ensure that security officers are properly trained and up to date on any new procedures, technologies, or legal requirements. Coordinate or arrange additional training sessions if needed.
  • Disciplinary Actions: If necessary, take corrective actions in the event of poor performance or violations of security protocols, including escalating the issue to management or HR when appropriate.
4. Coordination with Clients and Other Stakeholders:
  • Client Liaison: Act as the point of contact between security staff and clients, ensuring that client requirements are met and that any security-related issues are addressed promptly.
  • Client Updates: Provide clients with updates on security activities, incidents, or concerns. This could involve regular meetings or written reports on site security operations.
5. Risk Assessment and Threat Analysis:
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct assessments of the security needs of different sites to determine the level of security required, and adjust deployments accordingly.
  • Threat Mitigation: Identify potential security risks or vulnerabilities at various sites and recommend measures to mitigate those risks, such as adjusting patrol routes or increasing staff levels.
6. Emergency Response:
  • Incident Response: Lead or coordinate the response to security-related incidents, such as thefts, vandalism, accidents, or emergencies, ensuring that appropriate action is taken and that incidents are handled per the organization's protocols.
  • Emergency Drills: Organize and participate in emergency drills to ensure that both security personnel and other staff are prepared for emergencies like fires, natural disasters, or criminal incidents.
7. Inventory and Equipment Management:
  • Security Equipment: Ensure that security personnel have access to and are properly equipped with necessary tools and resources, such as radios, uniforms, patrol vehicles, or surveillance equipment.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor the condition of security equipment and coordinate maintenance or replacement as needed.
8. Compliance and Legal Requirements:
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure that all security officers comply with legal, regulatory, and internal security policies, including licensing requirements and workplace safety standards.
  • Compliance Audits: Assist with internal or external audits to ensure security operations are in compliance with regulations, contractual agreements, and best practices.
9. Reporting and Documentation:
  • Daily Logs and Reports: Oversee the daily logging of activities, including security officer check-ins, patrol logs, and incident reports, ensuring all records are accurate and filed properly.
  • End-of-Day Reports: Submit detailed end-of-day or shift reports to management, summarizing incidents, activities, and any issues that arose during the shift.
10. Communication and Coordination:
  • Team Communication: Maintain clear communication with security teams during their shifts, ensuring they are updated on any changes, incidents, or new instructions.
  • Cross-Department Coordination: Work closely with other departments (HR, operations, facilities management) to ensure smooth deployment of security personnel and to resolve any issues that arise.
11. Continuous Improvement:
  • Evaluate Effectiveness: Regularly evaluate the effectiveness of security deployments and personnel performance to identify areas for improvement.
  • Feedback Loop: Gather feedback from security personnel and clients to help improve processes and deployment strategies.
Skills and Qualifications Often Required:
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to manage and motivate a team of security personnel, providing direction and guidance where necessary.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Effective communication with both internal staff and external clients, both in writing and verbally.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail when managing schedules, reviewing incident reports, and monitoring security operations.
  • Problem-Solving Abilities: Ability to respond quickly to incidents and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Security Knowledge: Understanding of security protocols, surveillance systems, emergency response procedures, and relevant legal regulations.
  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks, such as scheduling, reporting, and monitoring, without missing important details.
  • Physical Fitness: The role may require occasional physical presence at security sites or walking rounds to monitor deployments.
  • Cerification: Minimum PLRD PWM grade of SSO and above is a must.
  • License: Must Possess Own Vehicle (Bike)
Typical Work Environment:
  • Field and Office Work: While a significant portion of the role may involve field-based activities (supervising sites, conducting spot checks, etc.), there is also office-based work like scheduling, reporting, and coordinating with clients.
  • Shift-Based Work: Security Deployment Officers work in shifts to ensure 24/7 coverage of security operations, especially for sites requiring constant vigilance.
