Roles & Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead and oversee a large-scale Data Centre Migration Project, involving the transition of approximately 10,000 virtual machines and multiple physical assets from an incumbent technology provider to two new technology providers within a hypervisor-based environment. This strategic, multi-year program requires exceptional leadership, stakeholder management, and technical delivery oversight within a highly regulated banking environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of the Data Centre Migration Project (estimated 2.5 years) from planning, infrastructure design, and build to cutover and post-migration stabilization, ensuring compliance with regulatory, security, and risk management frameworks.
  • Oversee the migration of physical servers, storage, network equipment, and appliances between data centres, alongside the migration of virtual workloads to two new platforms, with workload distribution across vendor tracks.
  • Manage two vendor migration streams, ensuring accountability, performance tracking, and timely delivery while maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Work closely with infrastructure architects, engineering, and build teams to coordinate delivery resources, resolve conflicts, and address any unrealistic delivery expectations.
  • Proactively identify, track, and resolve risks, issues, and dependencies to maintain project momentum.
  • Track and report on project quality, scope, timeline, effort, and resources (including internal teams, contractors, and professional services).
  • Consolidate project plans against actual costs, recommending optimization opportunities through component and timeline consolidation.
  • Recommend project re-prioritization based on urgency, regulatory requirements, and sensitivity of workloads.
  • Define, schedule, and monitor deliverables, milestones, and required tasks to ensure project objectives are met.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of proven experience managing large-scale data centre, infrastructure, and application migration projects involving 2,000+ servers.
  • Prior experience in banking or financial services regulatory environments is essential.
  • Hands-on knowledge of data centre infrastructure, including servers, networks, and storage technologies.
  • Strong problem-solving capabilities with a track record of driving issues to closure.
  • Previous exposure to large-scale migrations involving both physical and virtual workloads.
  • Experience managing multiple vendors and technology platforms simultaneously.
