Roles & Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

1. Vessel Operations Monitoring

  • Monitor daily vessel schedules and cargo conditions such as temperature and tank pressure.
  • Coordinate with ship management teams regarding periodic inspections (e.g., SIRE/CDI).

2. Communication & Coordination

  • Communicate with port agents to confirm line-ups and estimate port call schedules.
  • Send daily vessel itineraries to charterers and brokers.
  • Provide regular updates and feedback to Chartering PIC on stowage plans and vessel schedules.

3. Voyage Planning & Execution

  • Support planning of vessel rotations, stowage plans, cargo operation sequences, and tank cleaning for specialty cargoes.
  • Coordinate with vessel crew to validate voyage plans, including cleaning hours and operation timelines.
  • Manage supply arrangements such as bunker fuel, fresh water, detergents, and other voyage-related chemicals.

4. Troubleshooting & Emergency Handling

  • Act as a point of contact to resolve issues arising during voyage or port operations.
  • Communicate with ship managers for urgent matters or disruptions.

5. Vessel & Port Visits

  • Conduct periodic onboard visits for vessels calling Singapore.
  • Attend cargo operations and perform agent visits at overseas ports when necessary.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Upload and maintain voyage-related documents (e.g., port documents, B/Ls) in the shared system.
  • Input voyage data for charter-based calculations.
  • Handle agency appointments via DA-Desk, including PDA/FDA approval.
  • Assist in demurrage calculations and follow-up activities.

Requirements:

  • Diploma in Maritime Studies or a related discipline.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in one or more of the following areas:

    • Boarding officer duties

    • Operational roles in dry bulk or container shipping

    • Ship broking operations

    • Liquid maritime logistics within a trading or logistics organization
