Roles & Responsibilities

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and visionary Animation Leader to spearhead the creative and technical direction of our animation team. This role is crucial in bringing characters, environments, and gameplay experiences to life through high-quality animation that enhances storytelling, immerses players, and aligns with our company's artistic vision. The Animation Leader will play a key role in shaping workflows, mentoring talent, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class gaming experiences.

Key Responsbilities

Leadership & Direction

  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of animators to deliver outstanding character, environment, and cinematic animations.
  • Define and implement the animation style and quality benchmarks consistent with the overall game vision.
  • Collaborate with design, marketing, and UA teams to ensure animation supports both gameplay immersion and user growth.

Production & Pipeline

  • Oversee the animation production pipeline, with strong focus on Unreal Engine workflows, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and seamless integration with development.
  • Establish workflows, tools, and best practices for both real-time and cinematic animation in Unreal.
  • Ensure animations for user acquisition advertising (UA creatives) are optimized for multiple platforms and achieve strong engagement.

Creative Contribution

  • Provide hands-on contribution to Unreal Engine animation, including real-time cinematics, character rigging, and mocap integration.
  • Drive innovation in UA advertising animations, creating impactful content that resonates with global audiences and delivers measurable results.
  • Ensure animations align with gameplay mechanics, storytelling, and marketing objectives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Animation, Fine Arts, Game Design, or related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in animation for games, film, or interactive media, with at least 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience in creating animations for user acquisition (UA) advertising campaigns, with demonstrable performance results.
  • Deep expertise in Unreal Engine–based animation workflows, including real-time rendering, cinematic tools, and pipeline optimization.
  • Strong foundation in animation principles, character rigging, and cinematic storytelling.
  • Proficiency with animation tools (Maya, MotionBuilder, Blender, etc.) in combination with Unreal Engine.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
