
Head of Business Planning

The Head of Business Planning and Performance will be a strategic leadership role responsible for driving operational excellence, resource optimization, and continuous improvement across Aviation Ground Handling operations. This role will play a critical part in aligning business objectives, managing complex projects, and developing organizational capabilities through robust learning and development initiatives, while working closely with all the local internal and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
1) Resource Planning and Optimization
· Develop and implement comprehensive resource planning strategies for ground handling operations
· Conduct in-depth analysis of workforce requirements, creating detailed staffing models that balance operational efficiency with cost-effectiveness
· Design and maintain dynamic workforce scheduling systems that ensure optimal resource allocation across different airport locations and operational shifts
· Utilize advanced analytics and forecasting techniques to predict future resource needs and potential operational challenges
2) Project Management
· Lead complex cross-functional projects within ground handling operations
· Develop and maintain project management frameworks and methodologies
· Create detailed project plans, define clear milestones, allocate resources, and monitor progress against strategic objectives
· Implement robust performance tracking and reporting mechanisms
· Manage risk assessment and mitigation strategies for key operational initiatives
3) Learning and Development
· Design and implement comprehensive training and development programs for ground handling personnel
· Develop competency frameworks and skills matrices for different ground handling roles
· Collaborate with operational leaders to identify skill gaps and design targeted learning interventions
· Ensure continuous training, cross training and skills development for ground handling
4) Performance Management
· Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) for ground handling operations
· Create performance dashboards and reporting mechanisms to provide actionable insights
· Implement continuous improvement methodologies
· Conduct regular performance reviews and audits against industry standards
5) Strategic Planning
· Contribute to the development of long-term business strategies for ground handling operations
· Provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
· Support budget planning and financial forecasting
· Analyze market trends and competitive landscapes to inform strategic decision-making
6) Others
· Carry out additional duties as may be reasonably requested by the leadership team
· Consistently project a professional, confident, controlled and customer service focused attitude and demeanour

Requirements:
· Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; relevant professional qualifications (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2, Six Sigma) preferred.
Experience: 7-10 years in aviation ground handling, resource planning, or similar operational roles.
Skills & Expertise:
a. Proven project management track record.
b. Proficiency in data analysis, workforce planning tools, and visualization software.
c. Strong understanding of aviation regulations and industry best practices.
d. Strategic mindset with the ability to align projects with broader business goals.
e. Outstanding leadership, team development, and stakeholder management skills.
f. Excellent organizational, multi-tasking, and time management abilities.
g. Expertise in change management, confidentiality, and discretion.
h. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, advanced Excel, project management, and reporting tools.
Other Requirements:
a. Ability to obtain security clearance for an air-side security pass.
b. Commitment to environmental sustainability and safety-first principles.
