The Role

We're looking for a visionary Head of Platform Engineering to architect and evolve the internal cloud backbone supporting our suite of consumer-facing and enterprise-grade digital products. This is not just about keeping systems up—this is about designing the foundation that accelerates product delivery, enforces governance by design, and makes every engineer more productive and secure by default.

You'll lead a team that sits at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, developer enablement, and security automation. You'll steer both the strategy and execution across a complex, multi-cloud (AWS and GCP) environment, ensuring it's robust, scalable, observable, and cost-optimized.

What You'll Be Driving

Build and lead a high-performing platform engineering unit focused on delivering frictionless, secure cloud infrastructure and tooling for developers.

Define the architecture of the internal cloud platform—from identity and access controls to observability pipelines to deployment frameworks.

Take charge of our public cloud estate (primarily AWS and GCP), ensuring uptime, resilience, compliance, and performance at all layers.

Instill cost discipline across cloud environments through proactive spend management, budget forecasting, and engineering accountability (FinOps mindset).

Create embedded security mechanisms that shift left—baking in compliance and policy checks directly into CI/CD and infrastructure code paths.

Embed performance validation capabilities like load testing and chaos engineering tools into the platform so product teams don't have to reinvent the wheel.

Deliver a developer-centric observability framework—think structured logs, distributed traces, and system-level metrics that are easy to consume and act on.

Manage and optimize the tooling ecosystem (Terraform Cloud, GitHub, CI/CD, secrets management) to support modern workflows and infrastructure-as-code at scale.

Champion reusable DevSecOps patterns and libraries that give teams velocity without sacrificing control.

What You Bring to the Table

10+ years of hands-on engineering experience with increasing leadership responsibility; 3+ years running or scaling cloud/platform teams.

Advanced expertise with AWS services and strong familiarity with GCP or multi-cloud orchestration.

Track record of designing and running internal platforms or shared infrastructure used across multiple teams or product lines.

Deep understanding of cloud architecture patterns, governance models, and cost engineering.

Fluency in Terraform and infrastructure-as-code principles; strong grasp of CI/CD pipelines and software delivery automation.

Exposure to performance engineering, benchmarking tools, and modern observability systems (e.g., OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana).

Operational experience embedding DevSecOps at scale—from compliance-as-code to secrets rotation to automated security testing.

Clear communicator who can bridge engineering priorities with product needs and business impact.
