Project Kuiper is an initiative to increase global broadband access through a constellation of 3,236 satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO). We are looking for a talented Senior Manager, APAC Consumer Lead who is ready to take charge of operational planning and ultimately execute on our business plans in South and Southeast Asia. A successful candidate will be both entrepreneurial and highly analytical, able to work extremely effectively in a matrix organization and adept at understanding how businesses work in India and how to create innovative, local solutions specifically adapted to connectivity needs in APAC. We are looking for someone customer obsessed and technology savvy with a proven track record of leading new initiatives, especially in consumer related products.

This position may require access to information, technology, or hardware that is subject to export control laws and regulations, including the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) and the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Employment in this position is contingent upon obtaining any required export licenses or other approvals from the United States government. As such, the successful candidate must be eligible to obtain any necessary export licenses or approvals based on their nationality, citizenship, and any other factors considered by the applicable export control regulations.

Key job responsibilities

  • Be an accessible and visible leader to the organization
  • Analyze and recommend approaches for service
  • Deliver comprehensive, written strategy documents considering different types of data and inputs across a broad range of stakeholders
  • Prepare a detailed business case for justification of new opportunities · Once operational, meet business goals, performance objectives and deliver a fantastic customer experience
  • Develop overall country entry and consumer/SMB strategy for South and Southeast Asia.Build and manage teams managing countries and regions to successfully launch Project Kuiper
  • Oversee and engage in business development efforts and contract negotiation with local partners to prepare for Kuiper service
  • Partner with legal, tax and regulatory to develop country planning for country entry, partnerships and operations

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years of leadership experience as a general manager, or head of a relevant functional area, such as business development
  • 10+ years of experience in consumer telecommunications (pay TV, phone or internet) or satellite services
  • Experience in navigating regulatory landscape of APAC
  • Experience in leading contract negotiations
  • Undergraduate degree or related working experience
  • Fluency in English

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Experience building and managing successful teams, especially geographically diverse teams
  • Ability to succeed in an entrepreneurial and fast paced culture
  • Understanding of telecommunications, internet and/or satellite technology
  • Knowledge and familiarity with telecommunications regulatory authorities in India
  • Able to apply high level analytical and creative problem-solving skills
