Roles & Responsibilities

Every Sofitel team member is an Ambassador. An Ambassador represents Sofitel's brand and its values, at all times. The Sofitel Ambassador will establish relationships and foremost, the Sofitel Ambassador will deliver an exceptional guest experience and promote French excellence.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Review the log books and guest comments daily and rectify any challenges in terms of operations
  • Conduct daily Banquet department meetings for all full time Ambassadors.
  • Attend daily Department Head briefing and monthly F&B meetings and contribute positively in the absence of Banquet Manager
  • Be constantly inspecting the storage areas for cleanliness and working conditions by using the self-inspecting checklist.
  • Assist in co-ordinating functions and activities with other department heads and F&B outlet heads as deemed appropriate.
  • Recommend the hire and discharge of all banquet Ambassadors, following all rules and regulations.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the hotel and comply with all the rules and regulations as provided by the management of the hotel from time to time.
  • Review, on regular basis, all function menus together with the Executive Chef, Director of Events, and make changes when necessary.
  • Review, on regular basis, the Ambassadors' situation in the department and replace departed Ambassadors, keeping in mind the quarterly business forecast.
  • Ensure that Business Unit operations meet hotel and HR standards.
  • Meet/exceed Business Unit annual Budget and strategic F&B goals.
  • Implement and comply with succession plan.
  • Function as a business partner with the Restaurant/Cuisine Chefs/Executive Chef in providing quality culinary products to the catered events in the business unit.

Selling & Merchandise

  • Ensure the attractiveness of display carts or display of F&B items at the banquet functions by providing aesthetic decorations and display for every event.
  • Ensure that all Ambassadors in direct guest contact have full knowledge of the menus for each event.
  • All ambassadors are required to comply with every reasonable request from their hierarchical supervisor(s) within an amount of time that it takes to comply under normal circumstances.
  • All ambassadors may be assigned to other duties in the hotel as and when required by business levels.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Diploma in Tourism / Hospitality Management
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar capacity with proven track records
  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English language
  • Proficient in MS Excel, Word, & PowerPoint
