Scientist, HNC Regional Science, is responsible for executing the scientific agenda for the HNC organization, in alignment with business priorities. The must wins for HNC are commercializing innovation, premix, market ready solutions (MRS) and defending the core portfolio. Scientist will work closely with regional and local regulatory affairs to drive business through providing scientific support. The individual also assists in the deployment of scientific concepts, generated by global teams to the APAC Market for the Health, Nutrition & Care (HNC) organization. This individual must be able to function well on dynamic cross-functional teams and within a matrixed, international organization.

Your key responsibilities

  • Independent scientific & external affairs management, advanced technical skills and knowledge sufficient to lead science in 1 segment or markets in the region. Manage engagement of external consultants where required.
  • Drive science communication for the priority science issues in at least 1 segment and/or market. Ensure both scientific accuracy and quality of internal and external communications including social media, PR and trade releases, position papers. Contributes as a member of a cross-functional team (R&D, Marketing, Sales, Regulatory novation) that helps translates the science of nutritional ingredients for internal and external customers.
  • Able to deal with customer and stakeholder interactions as well as science communications with low-medium levels of complexity, focused on a single segment of market.
  • Deliver presentations to customers and presentations at professional meetings. Responsible for engagement and relationship management with Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs).
  • Assists in organizing and implementing events and meetings to educate and enhance awareness of the health benefits of dsm-firmenich ingredients.
  • Other activities: Present dsm-firmenich's position in nutrition, beauty and well-being as well as its broad portfolio of sustainable, science-backed innovative solutions to external stakeholders including industrial organizations and scientific communities in the region. Adhere to the relevant applicable dsm-firmenich guidelines and policies (the above-mentioned tasks and responsibilities are in addition to the relevant applicable dsm-firmenich guidelines and policies, e.g. SHE, Quality, Culture, P&O etc.).

You bring

  • Masters or PhD degree in Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Science, or equivalent through experience. Minimum 3+ years of relevant industry experience.
  • Experience with compiling scientific evidence to substantiate health claims and working with regulatory affairs team, knowledge of health claims systems in APAC e.g. TGA, Korea MFDS, FFC is a plus.
  • Strong ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders. A sound understanding of Dietary Supplement industry in APAC.
  • Ability to interact effectively with industry partners and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) from the Nutrition industry. Experience in translating scientific information to marketing campaigns and solutions.
  • A team player with the ability to collaborate across business groups, regions and departments and to establish strong relationships with key external stakeholders.
  • Proven capability to work transversally and independently and delivery of business impact.
