Roles & Responsibilities

Project Management of the Legal Digitalization Program of GEODIS

You will manage and support the enhancement of our Artificial Intelligences (AIs) for Contracts Management Lifecycle, Real-Estate, Claim and Corporate Databases:

  • Being the key legal contact for the management of all our AIs supporting the legal digitalization of GEODIS
  • Work with business managers and stakeholders to maintain and upgrade all our AIs to our other IT platform
  • Manage cross-functional Project Team to tailor the AIs to their needs with the aim to effectively support the business
  • Analyze the contractual gaps and draw statistics on the legal risks & exposure
  • Building/improving models to drive efficiency and compliance in legal processes through the AIs.

Contractual review & other legal support

You are required to draft and support the legal review of various commercial documents including but not limited to customer agreements, supplier agreements, leases for the region (18 countries):

  • Proactively partner and work with other colleagues in the region to negotiate contractual terms which are in line with our contractual policies and other group policies.
  • Apply effective risk management techniques and offer proactive advice on possible legal issues in the region.
  • Drive risk awareness through effective communication of legal risks to business units and managing directors of each country
  • Provide regional legal support to our counsels in China and India
  • Provide legal support notably in connection with data privacy and data security matters.
  • Supporting internal governance policies and regularly monitor compliance to these policies

Corporate and Company Secretarial matters

  • Provide corporate legal advice on development/growth projects, from confidentiality agreements and pre-contractual negotiations to structuring and negotiating acquisitions/joint ventures/divestments and new entity creations across the APAC & ME region,
  • Assist with any corporate matter including liaising with local teams, external lawyers, external corporate secretarial services in the implementation, coordination, and management of regional-wide or local corporate projects
  • Legal research on applicable corporate laws and regulations for ad-hoc requests in the fields of corporate law
  • Work with global tax counsels, finance team and external corporate secretaries to draft and/or support the legal review of corporate documents including but not limited to intercompany agreements, board resolutions

Trainings and Legal Management

  • Support various legal and insurance training to be provided to the APAC & ME legal community and other APAC & ME departments.
  • Organize contractual negotiation workshops.
  • Proactively partner and work with other colleagues in the region and globally to drive local alignment with regional and global initiatives, best practice, and knowledge sharing.
  • Developing legal support processes to address cross-regional issues and recurring questions
  • Support the management and implementation of our templates in APAC & ME, by reviewing and updating all services agreement templates and T&Cs in accordance with the Group policies and the local restrictions, manage our GEODIS APAC & ME Legal intranet and support the maintenance of the APAC & ME contract repository

Claims and Contentious Disputes

  • Provide support on claims and disputes to various business units and product departments in APAC & ME region
  • Work with our insurance brokers to manage claims in line with our insurance claim process and policy
  • Support the management and implementation of our claims templates in APAC & ME
  • Providing timely updates of the status of all claims to Regional Head of Legal

Knowledge and Experience

Education Qualifications

  • Minimum bachelor's degree in law.
  • Admission to bar society in any Asian & Middle East countries or English law.
  • Background in shipping litigation, arbitration or freight forwarding background is a plus.

Language Requirements

  • Proficient in spoken and written language
  • Knowledge of any other Asian and/or French language is a plus
