Job Opportunity: Process & Energy Engineer
Work Location: Jurong Island (Oil Additive Plant)
Working Hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
Salary: Up to $6,000 per month
Mandatory Requirement: Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) Certification
Principle Accountability/Responsibilities:
SCEM:
- Monitor and study the energy performance of site equipment.
- Implement energy conservation measures.
- Conduct energy management audits.
- Plan and organize initiatives to improve energy consumption.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting.
- Lead the site Energy Management team and hold quarterly meetings.
- Participate in regional Energy Management System meetings.
- Prepare energy management and audit reports for management review.
- Identify and implement energy-efficient projects to optimize energy and water consumption.
- Track cost and carbon emission savings from energy conservation measures.
- Manage data for the Digital Energy Management System (DEnMS) according to ISO50001 standards.
- Work closely with Energy Service Company (ESCO) consultants for the Energy Efficiency Opportunities Assessment (EEOA).
- Submit the annual Energy Use Report (EUR) and Energy Efficiency Improvement Plan (EEIP) to NEA.
- Lead and support high-impact sustainability and efficiency projects.
- Oversee site utilities and prepare monthly utilities reports.
CapEx and Project Management:
- Develop and lead capital improvement projects from scope definition to commissioning.
- Coordinate project development, execution, and construction with contractors.
- Ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Conduct regular meetings with management to plan and communicate CapEx spending.
- Ensure safe project execution and proper documentation.
- Ensure installations comply with company standards, design codes, and laws.
- Smoothly handover projects to stakeholders and ensure technical and financial completion.
Process Optimization:
- Drive process optimization and development projects focused on sustainable technologies.
- Provide process engineering support to identify and remove productivity bottlenecks.
- Design, select, implement, and monitor process and control equipment.
- Lead projects to improve plant capacity, cycle time, yield, and throughput using continuous improvement methodologies.
- Deliver small to medium-scale projects within an established program management plan.
- Support process troubleshooting with production and process technology teams.
Process Safety:
- Participate in Process HazOp Assessment, Quantitative Risk Assessment, Safety Case reviews, and lead the implementation of technical measures.
Change Management:
- Ensure Management of Change procedures are followed for all process/plant changes.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical Engineering.
- Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) certification is mandatory.
- 5+ years of experience in the manufacturing industry (Process/Equipment Optimization and Project Management).
- Experience with continuous improvement processes (e.g., Six Sigma, Lean, 5S) is advantageous.
- Experience with ASPEN PIMS and project management.
- Experience with digital data collection/analytics tools and databases (e.g., OEE, Testify).
- Willing to work in Jurong Island.
