Purpose

This is a new role created to support the Group Procurement transformation journey, covering all Business Units (BUs). The primary accountability of the role is to support the evolution and execution of the Sustainable Procurement Framework (SPF), embed ongoing Sustainability and Digitalization (S&D) initiatives with all BUs and lead/develop new projects to further deliver on our global transformation program.

This role will report to VP GPROC and work closely with colleagues in Procurement Commercial & Operational Excellence, Port Operations and Technology, Climate Response Command, Supply Chain Sustainability Solutions, BU Heads of Procurements, other functional and local stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Evolve and refresh the SPF bringing in latest leading market practices, with greater emphasis on action and impact to how we specify our requirements and how we engage the supplier market.
  • Support the roll-out of specific workstreams within the refreshed SPF, esp. in the execution of carbon monitoring and ESG management using our third-party global platform.
  • Assess the collective impact of the BUs’ energy transition plans on Group Procurement in terms of commercial strategy, capability and workload, and develop a roadmap in response to support the BUs’ energy transition as well as upskill the procurement function.
  • Support the development and execution of decarbonization projects, notably on equipment electrification, Renewable Energy (RE) sourcing and generation, and actively exploring green alternatives in tenders.
  • Develop and implement relevant strategies for high exposure ESG areas, e.g.
  • Monitoring market intel and new developments in carbon and ESG management
  • Deepening the Supplier KYC (Know your Counterparty) process
  • Supporting contract management to improve supplier performance
  • On the Digitalization front, enhance current procurement tools/templates, contracts and KPIs to embed ESG requirements, and to digitalize and automate them wherever possible.
  • Drive data-led programs and leverage AI/analytics capabilities in key areas, e.g.
  • Review global spend analysis and use cases arising
  • Visualize team performance with multi-dimensional dashboards and gap closure plans
  • Mine existing databases to develop cost models and benchmarks
  • Support VP GPROC in the Procurement Transformation journey by contributing to other workstreams and supply chain initiatives.

Requirements

  • Years of experience: 10~ years procurement/supply chain experience, with 3-5 years in sustainability / digitalization.
  • Qualifications: Any relevant degree. Post-grad/professional qualifications would be considered.
  • Specific technical skillset: Familiarity with ESG and sustainability developments; hands-on experience with AI/data/digitalization projects.
  • General skillset: Strong passion for ESG, AI/digitalization and continuous improvement. Self-driven with excellent commercial acumen and facilitation/stakeholder management skills. Experience with developing and leading change in regional/global programs.
