Job Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Learning Support Specialist to provide individualized and small-group academic interventions for elementary students who require additional support. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and specialists to create and implement strategies that address diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide targeted academic interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other core subjects for students with learning differences.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to develop and implement differentiated instructional strategies.
  • Assess students’ learning needs and monitor progress using formal and informal assessments.
  • Develop Individualized Learning Plans (ILPs) in coordination with teachers and parents.
  • Support students with executive functioning, study skills, and self-regulation strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and school leadership regarding student progress and learning strategies.
  • Work closely with external specialists when needed (e.g., speech therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists).
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive classroom environment that promotes student confidence and independence.
  • Stay updated with best practices in learning support, special education, and intervention strategies.
Qualifications & Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Education, Psychology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience working with elementary-aged students in a learning support or special education role.
  • Knowledge of differentiated instruction, intervention strategies, and inclusive education practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, teachers, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting student growth.
  • Experience in an American or international school setting is a plus.
