Roles & Responsibilities

Role Purpose:

We are seeking an Assistant Vice President, Operations to collaborate closely with the CEO to lead and execute strategic plans for the operations team as well as managing the day-to-day operations. The successful candidate should work with the CEO to embrace new challenges in steering the company forward. He/ She must have good knowledge in handling full spectrum of shipping documents for local as well as overseas markets.


Key Responsibilities:

Strategic:

  1. Lead, mentor and develop a high performing team of operations professionals.
  2. Develop and implement country profitability targets in ensuring that all operations key performance indicators (KPIs) are met.
  3. Maintain good and effective communication within the internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency.
  4. Colloborate with relevenant stakeholders to plan and optimize budgets, monitor expenses and identify cost-saving opportunities for the company.
  5. Identify opportunities to strealime processes, reduce lead times and enhance overall operational efficiency within the business requirements.

Operations:

  1. Have good knowledge in handling full spectrum of shipping documents for local and overseas markets while ensuring adherence to all local and regulatory guidelines to protect the Company's interest.
  2. Able to liaise with suppliers, 3PL service providers, shipping lines and customers closely including L/C management for negotiation and acceptance.
  3. Have knowledge in generating shipping documents and invoices in ensuring accurate invoicing as per contractual agreement.
  4. Manage operational matters, including customer service, logistics and supply chain, and any other projects being assisgned to you.
  5. Any other tasks assigned by the Superior.

Job Requirements:


Professional Requirements:

  1. Minimum 5 to 8 years in relevant/ similar capacity experience.
  2. At least a University Degree and/or Diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics, Shipping, Business, Economics, or related fields.
  3. Proficiency in Excel and ERP system.
  4. Exposure in a trading or distributor environment with relevant working experience in similar capacity.
  5. Good knowledge in switch bill of lading procedures and manage Certificate of Origin.
  6. Have experience in Bonded warehouse documents handling and transactions.
  7. Have experience in crisis management and risk mitigation.

  3. Hands-on mentality and engaged personality with confidence and possesses a can-do attitude.
  4. Strong problem solving & analytical skills and strong drive to succeed.
  5. Strong verbal and written communication with good interpersonal skills.
  6. Strong Project Management skills and ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
