Roles & Responsibilities

The Training & Competence (T&C) Team is responsible for the competencies and due diligence monitoring of the sales process and our tied sales force and Income Advisory Group (IAG) supervisory duties. The T&C Team reports to the T&C functional lead, who reports to the Head of Distribution Talent Centre, IAG Shared Services. The candidate reports to the T&C functional lead. He/she will be responsible for performing due diligence and monitoring the sales practices of the sales force under scrutiny by undertaking sales advisory documentation checks, performing customer surveys, checking on competency fulfilment, investigating potential findings, and activating service recovery. He/she shall drive the good practices expected of the sales force in fulfilling the required expectations in accordance with the company/industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-transaction checks equivalent as part of due diligence:
  1. Reviews of sales documents and supervisor's assessments
  2. Conduct Call-back to Customers (survey)
  • Conduct an audit on supervisor-call-back recordings
  • Conduct checks and reviews on supervisory duties activities (Coaching, Meetings, Joint Fieldwork, etc)
  • Ensure the review conclusions are within expectations, and further investigate the circumstances or clarify with sales advisors and supervisors.
  • Ensure review conclusions are well-documented.
  • Identify and communicate issues uncovered and carry out follow-up actions.
  • Generate and prepare regular reports for monitoring, tracking and reporting purposes.
  • Support in process reviews and SOP updates.
  • Implement initiatives and monitoring processes and conduct constant reviews to ensure compliance with supervisors' and advisers' expected competency standards.
  • Undertake projects and execute activities assigned to the team.

The Candidates should possess the following knowledge and experience:

  • Knowledge of Sales Advisory, regulatory requirements/standards
  • Sales supervisory experience in validating fact find, needs analysis and basis of recommendation
  • Knowledge of life insurance products and FAA investment products
  • Proficiency in a second language, preferably Mandarin or Malay
  • Familiarity with the relevant industry and regulators' requirements and developments
  • At least a diploma and above. Preferably with relevant work experience.
  • Have passed ^relevant licensing examinations : CMFAS Module 5, 8, 8A, 9, 9A, and Certificate in Health Insurance; or equivalents
  • At least 3 years experience in training and competence in sales advisory/compliance audit in the Financial Services industry; or experience in validating sales advisory
  • Diploma in business administration or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office – Word and Excel
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Meticulous, independent and work well in a team.
  • Strong analytical skills and a problem-solver
