Roles & Responsibilities

SUMMARY

To develop Human Resources Policies and Procedures, directs and coordinates human resources activities, such as employment, compensation, labor relations, benefits, training and employee relations by performing the following duties personally or through Human Resources team.


· To analyze wages, salary reports and data to determine competitive compensation plan.


· To prepare human resources forecast to project employment needs.


· To communicate company policies and procedures regarding all human resources matters.


· To consult local government bodies and the Employer’s Federation to ensure that policies comply with the Singapore Employment Act.


· To develop and maintain a human resources system that meets management information needs and in accordance with best practices.


· To oversee the analysis, maintenance and communication of records required by law or local governing bodies, or other departments in the organization.


· To ensure arbitration decisions and collective bargaining contracts are in line with industry trends.


· To represent management in negotiating collective bargaining agreements, where required.


· To represent and deliver presentations to corporate office or government officials regarding human resources policies and practices.


· To ensure an efficient system of updating and maintaining employee records.


· To coach and counsel managers and employees in grievance and disciplinary matters.


· To ensure a formal performance review for both employees and managers is carried out at least once a year and through this recommend and plan employees’ development.


· To ensure that welfare is in the interest of employees and the hotel.


· To ensure Employee Recognition Programmes are in place and morale of employee are maintained at a high level.


· To ensure employee functions and activities are organized throughout the year.


· To review, approve and analyze training budgets and justify funds requested.


· To approve training policies, programs, and schedules, based on knowledge of identified training needs, business systems, or changes in products, procedures, or services.


· To ensure that effective training programmes such as new employees' orientation, on-the-job training, sales techniques, health and safety practices, management development are in place.


· To approve the selection of outside consultants and trainers to conduct training in specific topics.


· To review, approve applications and proposals for Workforce Singapore grants.


· To screen, and recommend employees for participation in internal or external educational and training programs.


· To work closely with approved Hotel and Tourism Institutions for the recruitment of their students for work attachment.


· To prepare and monitor the annual Human Resources budget for the hotel.


· To make recommendations and ensure that the budget is in line with hotel’s goals and objectives.


· To undertake any other tasks that may be assigned from time to time.
