Roles & Responsibilities

Our client, has an opportunity for a Winner to join the Team as an IT Infrastructure Specialist.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Actively monitors major cloud and on-premises services including compute, storage area networks, security, services, applications, and networking
  • Responds to critical alerts and applies corrective actions to resolve
  • problems while following best practice guidelines quickly and efficiently
  • Provides day-to-day administration of on-premises and cloud-based solutions including but not limited to: Hybrid Exchange, Microsoft Azure, Amazon Web Services, Office 365, VMware and other virtualization technologies, Windows server environment, Fortinet firewalls , network switches, Okta identity and access management, Citrix Cloud, HCI Hyper-V Clusters
  • Addresses assigned user support tickets for both on-shore and at sea users by responding to concerns with hardware, applications and other system issues. Performs preventative maintenance for all systems, applications and hardware in areas of responsibility as assigned
  • Acts as point of escalation for tier 1-3 support tickets and provides user support where required
  • Supports the IT infrastructure and software on vessels remotely or in person when required
  • Designs, manages and administers backup and disaster recovery systems. Performs regular checks to ensure proper operation
  • Monitors enterprise SIEM, and other applications within the environment for security events, security bulletins and updates. Responsible for enterprise patch management services to apply updates, patches and fixes as required to maintain security standards
  • Documents problem resolution and provides documentation as required
  • Participates in IT procurement, application deployment and testing as required. Works with vendors and customers to implement business solutions through all phases of lifecycle management.
  • Automates repetitive business processes using scripts to increase system efficiencies


REQUIREMENTS:

  • Degree or diploma in IT, computer science or similar from a recognized institution
  • Azure, MCSA/MCSE, CCNA, FortiNet Certifications a strong asset
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in an IT role
  • Self-driven, organized, and work well both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, and good writing style
  • Excellent understanding of IT systems and infrastructure

  • Location: Central
  • Working days: Monday to Friday
  • Salary: Salary will commensurate according to experience & qualifications
