TheGlobal Compliance Management Services - Centre of Excellence (CoE)is seeking to fill a full-time role of senior tax PMO. Thecandidate should have tax background and experience on the assetmanagement industry. Candidates for this position will be capableof understanding technology at an intermediate level and leadinginternal projects (Medium to large) from conception through to thesuccessful delivery of the project. The role will work within theGlobal Tax Compliance and Transformation team at the direction ofthe GCMS CoE or their delegate based in Singapore. The role isdesigned to afford the right candidate with the opportunity tolearn many facets of the Tax business and engage internally andexternally with clients. The breath of the role will also requiresomeone with the ability to easily adapt to the ever-changing taxenvironment and to be flexible in the work required by the role.This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is ready for achallenge in a fast-moving role, working together with multipleteams.
KPMG's Global Tax Compliance andTransformation team is specifically designed to help clientsachieve cost-efficiencies and gain better process control andvisibility. The team has been established to support the growth ofKPMG's tax compliance service offerings. The aim of the team is todrive the implementation of internal and external initiativeswithin the Global Tax Compliance and Tax Transformation arena andensure high quality on-going services are provided to several ourclients. As part of the transformation team, this role will support5 main strategic goals:
- The firstgoal will be to support the building / development of the internaloperational processes. These internal projects will be critical todeveloping the foundation and the integrity of the services whichcan be delivered.
- The second goal is to leadand implement the transition initiatives for new clients in variouscountries and regions. Intention is to ensure a consistent deliverymodel, which includes the preparation of standardized data packs,process maps, RACI, Local transition packs and all the activitiesnecessary to conduct transition in an efficient manner. Thecandidate will be able to leverage the KPMG transition toolkit andmethodology implemented by KPMG for these purposes.
- To support with the PMO function by leading thecoordination activity of compliance obligations of existingclients, supported by enabling technology and respective deliverycenters.
- Fourth, the role will be to serve asa liaison with other parts of Global Tax Compliance and TaxTransformation, most notably the technology team responsible fortechnology landscape
- Finally, the role will berequired to support business development activities to support thebroader transformation team agenda and growth of Global TaxCompliance client base and targeting and Go-To-Marketstrategy.
As a seniormanager/manager consultant level, the ability to effectivelydeliver the above services in a timely manner, of high quality,whilst keeping the broader team informed will be critical to yoursuccess. Strong communication both written and verbal are mandatoryto the role. You will need to work collaboratively with other partsof the business and support the team as required in completingtheir tasks. To be successful you will need to have a 'proactive'approach to completing your work and supervising your peers'work.
As such we are looking for professionalswith previous experience (+7 years). Accounting and tax backgroundin a plus. These professionals will have some specific goals aroundthis competence, namely:
- Demonstrableproject management or operational management experience
- The ability to engage across many levels of the clientorganisation and the ability to confidently interface across KPMGGlobal Tax Compliance network
- The ability tounderstand and pursue tax opportunities, tax offerings, how theyare implemented and the technology that underpins them
- The ability to lead and support as requested internalprojects to uplift Global Tax Compliance and tax transformationcapability and most importantly, the ability to train other membersof the team and share best practices based on experience
- The ability to support business development activitiesand lead other market facing activities that contribute to thewinning of new engagements that support our clients to delivertheir transformational objectives (i.e. Competitor intelligenceinitiatives, develop Go-to market initiatives, etc.)
- The ability to demonstrate logical processing ofunderstanding an issue or project and developing a plan andoverseeing its implementation to achieve the expectedoutcomes.
- The ability to set milestones,track, and report on status of compliance obligations toefficiently coordinate existing global tax compliance projects tosupport with the PMO function, as needed.
- Inaddition, as part of KPMG, you will need to complete annualrequirements such as goal setting, timely completion of trainingand other KPMG specificactivities.
Skills/Knowledge and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree, Minimum 7 years work experience, withdemonstrable project management experience on managing clientportfolio and technical acumen.
- Preference forprevious experience in similar roles. Needs to be able to operatein environments where there is uncertainty. Needs to quicklyidentify how work should be delivered and plan for its deliverywith any known constraints such as pricing, skills available andtimeframes and maximize the delivery center solution offering.Needs to be able to be articulate with clients, including inwritten form particularly when communicating on a project, itsconstruct, and its status. Should be a self-starter and able to actwith minimal guidance and be able to lead stakeholders throughmedium projects or process solutions.
- Shouldhave skills to be able to manage all aspects of a medium-largeproject. The ability to appropriately structure a project fordelivery is critical. Ability to identify risks and issues anddrive resolution is important. Should possess skills to be able tounderstand the accounting/tax issues, implementation of technologysolutions and other day to day issues. Tax acumen would befavorably considered.
- Exceptionalinterpersonal skills are a must. This person must be a team playerand highly organized, as they will work internally and externallyacross many dimensions of the business. Important to have goodlistening skills to understand other points of view, and to be ableto articulate these to other parties.
