We are currently seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Oil Market Analyst to join our team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in analyzing and forecasting oil market trends and providing valuable insights to support our business decisions. This position requires a minimum of 5 - 8 years of relevant work experience in the oil industry.


Job Description

  • Become part of the market research team and take a lead role in conducting oil market research and analysis.
  • Work closely with team members and front desk traders to provide strategic and analytical input to the company.
  • Construct and maintain databases for key oil statistics, derive key trends, and convert these observations into insightful notes.
  • Utilize statistical models and data analysis techniques to forecast oil market movements and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Stay updated with industry news, publications, and research reports to maintain a deep understanding of the oil market landscape.
  • Prepare analytical reports in a timely, relevant, and thought-provoking manner.
  • Think creatively and lead the team to carry out independent research as well as work on ad-hoc projects.
  • Any ad-hoc duties assigned by the Superior / Management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Economics, Mathematical Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 - 8 years of experience as an Oil Market Analyst or in a similar role within the oil industry.
  • Strong knowledge of global oil markets, including supply and demand dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and geopolitical factors.
  • Proficient in utilizing statistical analysis tools, data visualization software, and Excel for conducting market analysis.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and draw meaningful insights.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively present analysis findings to various stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Fluency in English and Chinese is required for composing reports in both languages - English and Chinese.
