Our journey began with a bold vision: to transform the construction industry through robotics. To achieve this, we developed Fabricator, an innovative design automation platform. This revolutionary technology empowered us to create an automatic tile grouting robot that delivers a 5x productivity boost. This patented solution, currently being deployed at leading construction companies like Woh Hup, BHCC, and others, exemplifies the transformative power of our approach.

Our groundbreaking approach has not only captured the imagination of the robotics world, but also garnered the trust of industry leaders. We've secured over 3 million USD in funding from prestigious investors like Hoxton Ventures, Credo Ventures, and prominent figures like our professor from Cambridge University and construction giants like Woh Hup. This strong backing fuels our mission and validates the transformative potential of our technology.

We also have an international presence, with our own offices in both Singapore and Czech Republic, as well as partners and advisors from the United States, Switzerland, China, and the UK.

Help us take our grouting robot from a TRL 7 to 9. Gain invaluable experience and shape your internship at Fabrica AI We're looking for interns with skills in (you don't have to be proficient in all):

  1. Mechanical manufacturing, assembly and testing
  • 3D printing - Slicing prints, setting up, maintaining, and repairing printers (Bambu P1, Elegoo Neptune 3, Modix).
  • Power tools - Fabricating parts by hand to quickly iterate to test concepts.
  • Assembly and Disassembly - E.g. installing inserts, bolting parts together, bonding via various adhesives.
  • Calibration- Testing the robot's performance, making adjustments to ensure it is running to specification.
  • Experiments - Test designs, investigate findings from site, and verify concepts yet to be implemented.
  1. Electrical assembly (only for R&D, our manufacturing is outsourced)
    • Troubleshooting, debugging, and repairing electrical faults on the robot.
    • Where necessary, to make modifications e.g. soldering PCBs and/or harnesses, crimping wires.
  2. Robotics DevOps & Real World Industry Trials
    • Understand the whole project and run our ROS2 stack on the robot.
    • Create reproducible testing methodology and evaluate metrics on the robot.
    • Be in charge of robot deployment to the various construction sites, and the surrounding logistics involved.
    • Explore and procure new parts/new materials for overall robot usage performance improvement.
    • On-site Deployment - Operating and testing the robot in real world conditions with the aim of improving the reliability and performance of the robot, as well as the overall on-site processes
  3. Manufacturing
    • Outsourcing & Production Coordination - Maintaining the Bill of Materials and liaising to manufacture custom parts e.g. mechanical parts (3D-printed, machined, or otherwise), or electrical parts (harnesses, PCB).
    • Sourcing and testing appropriate equipment, component and materials for R&D
    • Prototype development - Facilitate collaboration between manufacturers and the R&D team to develop and iterate new components, while ensuring quality standards are met and costs are optimized.

A great candidate would possess the following:

  • Basic experience of using power tools safely.
  • Experience with soldering wires and electrical components.
  • An adaptable personality, willing to work without a very well defined job scope and able to adapt to changes week on week.
  • Ability to think of metrics to measure progress and decision making based on back of the envelope calculations.
  • A "can-do" attitude that will not waver when met with adversity.
  • Curiousness about robotics and similar technical areas and exploring them in extracurricular projects.
  • A mindset of continuous improvement.
