Roles & Responsibilities

This role reports to the HOD of IT

Key Responsibilities:

1. Data Center Operations

a. Design technology strategies and implement plans and processes across IT operation teams

b. Ensures comprehensive goals are set for IT operations and IT services performance

c. Oversee daily IT systems operations for the SG branch to meet desired IT service standards and MAS &

BNM regulatory and supervision framework standards.

d. Drive productivity through automation, process improvement and active capacity management

e. Simplify processes with focus to improving services quality and customer journeys

f. Evaluate performance and recommend improvements by analysing and interpreting data and metrics in

IT services

g. Ensure processes/work guidelines/SOPs are documented and kept current over time

h. Conduct regular self-assessments and ensure full compliance to regulatory requirements and reduce IT

operational risks.

2. Change Control Management

a. Driving consistency in the change controls as part of IT governance framework to manage in the area of

IT operational risk assessment/ controls and ensure compliance to good ITIL practices and regulatory

requirements

b. Build a strong IT compliance and operational risk functions & culture

c. Support the activities for RCSA (risk & control self-assessment)

d. Drive discipline and consistency around IT asset inventory and change control

3. Service Management Service

a. Maintain a high level of IT service quality for both internal & external customers and drive the IT units

towards meeting the agreed business SLAs.

b. Establish and maintain the IT processes and controls to ensure enterprise information assets are

adequately protected

c. Identify, develop, implement and maintain processes across the Sg Branch to reduce information and information technology risks, and respond timely to events and incidents

4. Business Continuity & Disaster Recovery Management

a. Responsible for SG Branch's business continuity management (BCM) to identify and mitigate the

organization's risk of exposure to internal and external threats

b. Provide the organization with the ability to effectively respond to threats such as natural disasters or

cyber adversarial actors and data breaches, and protect the business interest of the organization

c. BCM includes disaster recovery, business recovery, crisis management, incident management,

emergency management and contingency planning.

d. Ensure the SG branch meets regulatory expectations as well as customers and internal stakeholders.

Mangerial Responsibilities

  1. To provide leadership in delivery of IT services to support the implementation of business plans in terms of infrastructure stability and security, cost efficiency, and customer centricity.
  2. To be abreast of all current and new internal policies / procedures and regulatory requirements, and ensure all work deliverables comply with these requirements.
  3. To perform supervisory duties including management, coaching and giving performance evaluation and career development of all direct reports.
  4. To reward and recognize high achievers & to maintain robust bench strength through providing career progression & succession planning.
  5. To create a conducive and quality work life environment for all employees.
  6. To coordinate within business and technology units to ensure proper staff

Education/ Qualification

A recognized Degree in Information Technology, IT System Engineering or equivalent.

Experience/ Requirements

  • At least 10 years of progressive experience in the financial industry with extensive experience in IT, IT operations, administration and regulatory compliance; direct experience in emerging technologies is advantage.
  • At least 8 years of experience in a management role including demonstrated ability to plan, coordinate and organize IT delivery, set goals and objectives while coaching and developing team members.
  • Demonstrate good understanding of business functions and strategic plans.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with senior management, internal stakeholders, regulators and vendors.
  • Experience in process and service improvement in a multi-discipline operating environment.
  • Comfortable at operating in an evolving and cooperative environment; excellent people manager, open to collaborative work style and focus on results.
  • Ability to master a large volume of details and facts, set priorities and be persuasive in senior level discussions.
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize management and leadership best practices to plan, direct, schedule and review the work performance of assigned employees.
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • A proven track record of consistent performance and achievement
