Planning & Procurement Leader

As the Planning and Procurement Leader, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the supply and purchasing strategy for our company. You will be responsible for overseeing the entire planning and buying process, from ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products at the right price, to planning the quantities of products to purchase. The successful candidate will have a strong background in planning and procurement, excellent people skills, and a deep understanding of the Food Service/ Food industry. The Planning and Procurement Leader would be part of our Supply Chain team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership in Planning and Procurement: Drive strategic transformation in the Planning and Procurement department, and implement a comprehensive procurement strategy that strikes the right balance between cost, quality and availability.
- Setup of Planning Function: Drive the setup, development and maturation of planning processes across all key stakeholders. Own key metrics such as forecasting accuracy, inventory levels, stock turns, and out of stock.
- Portfolio Management and Assortment Improvement: Lead the strategic development and continuous refinement (including specification management) of the product portfolio, ensuring a competitive and well-curated assortment that meets market trends and customer demands.
- Collaborative Stakeholder Engagement: Forge strong collaborations with Foodservice Sales, Omnichannel, Production and other key stakeholders to deeply understand their needs, ensuring the procurement strategy supports all aspects of the business effectively.
- Price Setting: Provide deep supply-side knowledge into setting the prices of products, ensuring they reflect supply and demand side market dynamics, cost optimization efforts, and company objectives.
- Team Leadership and Development: Build and mentor a high-performing sourcing and procurement team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, strategic thinking, and excellence.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. Master's degree is a plus.
- Proven experience in a senior-level commercial buying role within the Food Service or food distribution industry with high number of SKUs with local as well overseas suppliers.
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain effective supplier relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of procurement best practices, market trends, and industry regulations.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
