Role: Agile Release Train (ART) Release Train Engineer - SCRUM (Day Rate Contract for a multi-year project)

Our Client is a renowned Global MNC.

Purpose:

The ART Release Train Engineer (RTE) facilitates and drives the successful execution of the Agile Release Train (ART). Collaborating with teams, the RTE ensures alignment with Agile principles, coordinates the various teams within the ART, and manages and optimizes the flow of value through the ART using the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe). This role is pivotal in facilitating program-level processes and execution, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring that the ART delivers on its commitments.

Responsibilities:

Agile Release Train Leadership:

  • Lead ART events and processes, including PI Planning, System Demos, and Inspect and Adapt (I&A) workshops.
  • Support teams in delivering value by ensuring effective communication, removing obstacles, and managing potential risks.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, System Architects, and stakeholders to ensure strategic execution alignment.

Program Execution:

  • Optimize value flow through the ART.
  • Coordinate ART's features, capabilities, and dependencies with other ARTs.
  • Monitor and report on ART key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics for clear visibility and transparency.

Facilitation and Coaching:

  • Promote collaboration among teams, stakeholders, and the broader organization for efficient business value delivery.
  • Act as an Agile coach to ART members, advocating Agile best practices and ensuring adherence to SAFe principles.
  • Offer leadership and direction in continuous improvement initiatives within the ART.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify and handle risks and dependencies within the ART, creating and implementing mitigation strategies when needed.
  • Proactively resolve impediments to avoid hindering ART progress.
  • Facilitate conflict resolution and maintain a positive work environment for teams.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Drive continuous improvement programs, fostering a culture of ongoing enhancement.
  • Implement and promote Agile best practices, encouraging team evolution and enhancement.
  • Collaborate with other RTEs, Agile Coaches, and leadership to exchange best practices and boost overall Agile maturity.

Technical Leadership:

  • Collaborate closely with System Architects and development teams to ensure architectural alignment and integration.
  • Provide guidance on system design and integration, ensuring consistency and compliance with organizational standards.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, emerging technologies, and Agile methodologies to enhance ART practices.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Release Train Engineer or in a similar Agile environment role.
  • Comprehensive understanding of Agile frameworks (SAFe, Scrum, Kanban) and practical implementation experience in large-scale organizations.
  • Proficient in software development methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, and other Agile project management tools.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce and SAP platforms is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in coordinating across multiple teams and managing dependencies.
