Job Description:

Are you ready to take on a key role in shaping Airbus Procurement in the Asia Pacific region? An exciting opportunity as the Head of Regional Procurement Office - Asia Pacific is now available in Singapore. In this position, you will report to the Head of Procurement Governance and Strategy functionally, and to the Head of Asia Pacific International Cooperation operationally.

About Regional Procurement Office Asia Pacific:

The Regional Procurement Office Asia Pacific is a dynamic multicultural team of approximately 30 individuals representing 10 nationalities. Operating across 11 countries and territories, including South East Asia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Australia, and New Zealand, we are expanding our footprint in the region. Our mission is to provide regional context, enhance market access, develop the Airbus regional supply chain, and elevate the Airbus brand locally. We collaborate closely with other Regional Procurement Offices to ensure cohesion and synergy in our operations.

About the role:

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Acting as the primary advocate for Procurement in Asia Pacific and fostering connections with European counterparts.
  • Engaging with the Procurement teams in Europe and collaborating with Airbus Country Representatives across the region.
  • Promoting Airbus visibility and branding in Asia Pacific through event participation and organization.
  • General Procurement:
    • Executing local General Procurement operations efficiently and effectively.
    • Implementing a unified strategic procurement approach.
    • Ensuring compliance with global agreements and procurement processes.
  • Flying Procurement:
    • Identifying and cultivating regional suppliers aligned with Airbus requirements.
    • Developing and executing procurement strategies in line with overall Airbus objectives.
    • Contributing to Industrial Cooperation & Offset initiatives.
  • Procurement Operations and Supplier Development:
    • Facilitating the growth of regional suppliers.
    • Managing the industrialization of new projects in the region.
    • Conducting special process qualifications and assessments.
  • Transverse Responsibilities:
    • Streamlining and digitizing procurement practices in Asia Pacific.
    • Ensuring contractual governance and compliance.
    • Benchmarking performance and implementing best practices.
    • Supporting sustainable supply chain initiatives in the region.
  • People Development:
    • Fostering the professional development of the procurement team in Asia Pacific.
    • Promoting a strong sense of community within the Asia Pacific team.

Requirements & Expectations:

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related fields.
  • Proven experience leading transnational procurement teams with exposure to diverse commodities.
  • Minimum of 8 years in procurement, preferably within the aviation industry.
  • Demonstrated leadership in managing cross-functional teams.
  • Open-minded, team-oriented individual with a knack for cross-cultural collaboration.
  • Customer-focused with exceptional communication skills at all levels.
  • Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to simplify complex topics.
  • Pragmatic decision-maker adept at balancing risks and priorities.
  • High level of autonomy and adaptability to remote work environments.
  • Fluency in English; proficiency in other languages is a plus.
  • Availability for occasional business travel.
