Job Summary

At MUFG IS, a Project Manager plays a crucial role as a change influencer and trusted advisor in both business and technology realms. They spearhead and execute organizational priorities that bring value. Project managers are pivotal in guiding projects from their inception phase (business casing) to project structuring, implementation, and handoff to BAU. To excel in this role, Project Managers must possess a blend of resourcefulness, strong relationship-building skills, execution expertise, business acumen, risk management proficiency, and excellent communication and facilitation abilities.

As a core member of the Project Management team, the Project Manager oversees a variety of projects across a global organization, ensuring they run on time, within budget, and adhere to project management best practices. By implementing effective governance and managing day-to-day project operations, they ensure project objectives are met. Additionally, Project Managers support the PMO in portfolio and resource planning and reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure successful and timely delivery of change projects
  • Develop project plans, budgets, and schedules; manage tasks and teams on the critical path
  • Control project scope with stakeholders, execute tasks with the project team, and communicate effectively with managers and senior stakeholders
  • Identify process enhancements and provide feedback for the project, including necessary strategies for timely execution
  • Gather or track completion of essential project artifacts, such as risk assessments, technical drawings, requirements, testing, and change plans
  • Offer feedback to project stakeholders and manage risks and issues effectively
  • Update project information in real time, collaborate across departments, and ensure projects align with the organization's strategic vision
  • Safeguard the project vision and business case viability
  • Be flexible to address urgent matters beyond regular business hours as needed

Qualifications

Ideal Candidate

  • Background in Financial Services, specifically Fund Administration or Banking
  • 5+ years of project management experience in business and technology domains
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical and business project management
  • Proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time, within scope and budget
  • Proficiency in collaborating with business and technology teams to launch new products/services
  • Experience in developing project plans, budgets, and technical requirements
  • Familiarity with Agile, Lean, waterfall, hybrid, and other project management methodologies
  • Proficiency in project management tools like Smartsheets, Jira, and Confluence
  • Certification or ongoing study in relevant Project Management credentials (PMP, Scrum/Agile) is a plus
