Corporate Development Senior Analyst

Job Summary

The Corporate Development Senior Analyst supports Regional business planning/analysis, strategic initiatives, and new business development research. He or she is expected to build strong partnerships with some major functions and assist on strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and real estate investments.

Responsibilities

Investment Analysis and Management

  • Runs financial models and assists in development of presentations
  • Assists in evaluation of real estate strategy for each metro and supports capex forecasts on planned development
  • Supports the preparation of business cases for new development
  • Coordinates with Design, Construction, Business Development, Commercial Finance, Ops, Finance, Sales and other departments to determine optimal development plans
  • Coordinates investment approval process and capex prioritization
  • Assists with creation of investment proposals to executive management
  • Assists in evaluation of site business performance against plans
  • Supports asset management optimization strategies including expansion, contraction, disposition and reconfiguration of properties
  • Assists with financial analysis and IRR models
  • Conducts ad hoc financial analysis and support investment analysis for other business units, including M&A, Strategy, Business Development, and others
  • Assists with consolidating forecasts and potential qualitative analysis in support of application of licenses, tax incentives, etc. for both new and existing markets

Strategic Planning and Development

  • Independently conducts competitive market research on trends that have a potential to impact the business, as assigned by senior leadership
  • Conducts and prepares presentations/reports on research
  • Potentially supports M&A activity

Project and Program Management

  • Attends and supports cross functional team meetings
  • Assists in preparation of Executive staff and Board presentation materials
  • Supports efforts on internal consulting projects focused on new markets/products, growth initiatives or profitability improvements
  • Aids in short-term consulting/problem solving/performance improvement support & advice to E-team, as needed
  • Prepares team meeting materials

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Develops relationships with key stakeholders throughout the company
  • Proactively communicates with internal departments to ensure accurate data is used for modeling purposes

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or higher preferred
  • Up to 3 years of working experience, preferably in an Investments/Corporate Development role
  • Alternatively, the candidate can also have Big 4 Advisory/Management Consulting experience, preferably with exposure to the TMT or real estate sector
  • Familiarity and comfort with financial modelling. Able to grasp simple model concepts with minimal guidance
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Powerpoint
  • Interest and basic knowledge of the Data Centre industry, background in the sector is a plus
