Position Summary


The BD & Marketing Manager will also take a lead role managing the Vietnam Country practice, working with a core team of dedicated lawyers, focusing on developing our client base interested in Vietnam and building our profile with clients and intemediaries.

The key to success in this role is to bring energy, ideas, commitment and organization to the table. This is a maternityleave contract role for a 12 month period.

Duties and Accountabilities

  • Business Development and Client Management _
  • Provide proactive and organized BD support to the lawyers of the South East Asia and Korean practices and the regional BD & Marketing group, to deliver against objectives in the practice's business plan.
  • Managing the daytoday activities of the Vietnam Country group practice, working on business planning, client development and targeting, profiling and market engagement.
  • Prepare proposals, capability statements, presentations and other materials (typically working to tight deadlines) working directly with the lawyers to present to clients. These materials must be client ready and convey the strengths of the firm concisely and convincingly, often involving significant original research and writing.
  • Conduct research and analysis to support BD campaigns.
  • Sales pipeline tracking opportunities arising from marketing and business development activities (including BD initiatives, pitches, events, etc.) and analyzing outcomes arising from these opportunities.
  • Working with the lawyers, track transactions in the firm's matter database to ensure experience is accurately profiled.
  • Communications _
  • Maintain meaningful, convincing and concise BD materials including brochures, biographies, fact sheets, the website and other collateral.
  • Work with the lawyers on directory and award submissions and interviews.
  • Engage with the Firm's external press agency to pursue SEA and South Korea focused business media opportunities for our partners, relevant to the Firm's business plan for this region.
  • Events _
  • Develop client events and training, with a focus on ROI and follow up, working with the Asia Events Manager based in Hong Kong. Proactively suggest opportunities for client engagement.
  • Support the planning and execution of roadshows and BD trips for lawyers travelling to/from Asia and within the Asia-Pacific office network.

  • Prepare reports and respond to requests by Firm management.
  • Assist in the integration of lawyer new joiners and the handling of lawyer departures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong English language skills written and verbal are essential. Highlevel written skills in both languages are critical.
  • At least 8 years of experience working in a business development role for a global law firm or other professional services firm in Asia-Pacific or a major international financial center.
