Assistant Manager/Manager, Marketing & Advocacy (Comms)

RESPONSIBILITIES


The Communications Assistant Manager / Manager will contribute towards the smooth development and implementation of communications' strategies, public relations activities and media engagement and monitoring.

This includes shaping the workplace by delivering inspiring and engaging communications to enhance culture, developing and managing content for media engagements, media spokespersons, rolling out publicity for key initiatives and providing communications support to the various teams and key stakeholders.

The individual will be responsible for supporting the Senior Manager for Communications in:

  • Implementing a comprehensive communications and PR strategy, and tracking its performance to enhance the organisation's image and position within the giving space and the general public
  • Facilitating internal and external communications and providing communications support for programmes and events
  • Corporate communications functions such as news monitoring (weekly), events reporting (seasonal), compiling content and/or resources, facilitating media queries and requests, ensuring intranet and other digital content channels are updated and current
  • Building and maintaining working relationships with relevant media partners and journalists
  • Overseeing the appointed media and PR agency to ensure the quality of work and consistency in messaging
  • Working with key stakeholders and management to support their communications needs for campaigns and events so that the messaging and branding is consistent and aligned
  • Serving as communications business partner to internal stakeholders to advise and support internal communication needs
  • Planning and organising internal communications events including Town Hall, and providing communications support on brown bag sessions, etc.
  • Working with internal stakeholders to lead and implement a communications plan that strengthens the organisational culture and effectively shares changes/updates in the organisational strategy so that all staff are clear about their contributions.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least a bachelor's degree in PR, Marketing, Communications or Journalism
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in PR and communications related work. Relevant experience working with different types of internal stakeholders from Clevel to junior staff.
  • Strong writing skills
  • Ability to present and communicate and articulate confidently ideas, plans and organise meetings, discussions and conferences with an impeccable attention to detail
  • An understanding of deadlines and project management is essential
  • Ability to speak out respectfully with suggestions and solutions
