Sales Assistant Manager Job Description

We're on the lookout for a highly motivated assistant sales manager to support the sales manager in the daily operations of our store. Responsibilities include enhancing sales strategies, addressing customer concerns effectively, and aiding in the recruitment of sales personnel. A key part of this role is being able to assign tasks to the sales team when the manager is unavailable.

To excel in this role, you should exhibit outstanding leadership qualities and ensure that the sales team adheres to company protocols and standards. The ideal assistant sales manager will consistently deliver exceptional customer service.

Sales Assistant Manager Responsibilities:

  • Consistently meeting or surpassing sales targets.
  • Supervising and mentoring the sales team, offering incentives to drive performance.
  • Tracking the team's progress and performance.
  • Maintaining a clean and well-organized store environment.
  • Cultivating strong relationships with customers.
  • Spotting opportunities and strategies to boost sales.
  • Participating in sales meetings and training sessions regularly.
  • Ensuring adequate stock levels of company products in the store.
  • Acting as the Sales Manager when needed.
  • Keeping managers informed by summarizing daily actions.
  • Supporting sales processes with a well-stocked store.
  • Providing product recommendations based on customer needs.
  • Handling point-of-sale transactions.
  • Staying updated on product features and promotions.
  • Tracking sales expenses and submitting for reimbursement.
  • Updating customer information in the database as necessary.
  • Performing any other tasks assigned by the director.

Sales Assistant Manager Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Preferably a Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience in sales and customer service.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Solid management and leadership skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service capabilities.
  • Effective multitasking and handling pressure.
  • Flexibility to work during varied hours.
  • Capacity to perform under pressure.
