ARTC is looking for an innovative and experienced researcherto join the Remanufacturing Process Technology group. Thesuccessful candidate has opportunities to participate in researchprojects related to welding and Directed Energy deposition (DED)processes. This includes the followingarea:

-Understanding and optimizing process andpost processing parameters for arc welding and directed energydeposition of steels, Ni-based alloys Al-alloys, metal matrixcomposites and other novel materials.
  • Optimize and establish the correlation between processparameters, microstructure, defects, and partperformances.
  • Development of hybridmanufacturing processes for multimaterials forming andfabrication.
  • Development of DED toolpaths anddeposition strategies for enhanced part forming consistency andquality.
  • Operating robot-based or CNCequipment with blown powder and wire delivery for R&D andindustry projects.
  • Industry engagement,proposal scoping, preparation, andpresentation.

JOBREQUIREMENT
  • PhD in MechanicalEngineering / Materials / Metallurgy
  • At least3 years of R&D experience in laser materialsprocessing.
  • Knowledge in directed energydeposition process or welding.
  • Strongbackground in understanding and correlating process,microstructure, and properties in welded and additive manufacturedmetallic alloys.
  • Effective individualcontributor and collaborator.
  • Strongcommunication and stakeholder managementskills.
