ARTC is looking for a Scientist to join Autonomous Systems& Robotics (ASR) group as a leading expert on ?AI for RoboticsSystems' to accelerate the development of novel intelligent andreconfigurable robotic systems that can be adopted byindustry.

ABOUT THEROLE

As a Research Scientist, youwill contribute towards R&D of systems and solutions as part ofa larger team, to meet the needs of companies across multipleindustry sectors of the manufacturing and logistics ecosystem inSingapore. You will work with senior engineers and scientists atA*STAR on different robotics and automation systems. If you arepassionate about applying the best-in-class AI / ML andoptimization algorithms and knowledge representation models todevelop intelligent robotics & automation systems or solutions,this is the role for you.

JOBDESCRIPTION

-Research on state ofthe art algorithms, technologies and tools, evaluate and comparepros and cons, and make recommendations; contribute to smartrobotic and automation system developmentprojects

-Discuss with stakeholders to clearlyunderstand their needs, problem statements, constraints andexpectations

-Propose new concepts, design anddevelop new algorithms and software modules in the area ofautonomous manufacturing, human-centric intelligent automationsystems, reconfigurable robotic systemsetc.

-Work with team in validating using virtualmodels, simulations, physical prototypes and preparingdemonstrators

-Review current roadmap, identifynew research directions, generate proposals for new projects /grants

-Prepare detailed technical documentationof projects and make presentations to a diverseaudience

-Prepare detailed scientific papers anddocuments on intellectual property (IP) / technologydisclosure

JOBREQUIREMENT

-PhD degree in AI /Computer Science, or related Engineering disciplines (such asMechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Computer, Aerospace,Automation Engineering) with focus on optimization, machinelearning, robotics, autonomous systems, cyber-physical systemsetc.

-2 years experience in R&D projects intheir relevant area of expertise

-Strong basicsin computing, data science, and AI applications related to roboticor autonomous physical systems or industry-relevant problems arealso welcome

-Programming skills (Python, C/C++in developing data analysis, optimization and machine learningalgorithms and applications

-Good track recordof scientific publications in top journals or conferences, and/orpatents

-Strong problem solving and analysisskills, technical documentation and presentationskills

-Practical knowledge in applyingGenerative AI, Reinforcement Learning etc. will be a strongplus

-Experience in systems-level modelling andsimulation will be a plus (e.g.,Simulink)

-Relevant industry project experience(before or after PhD) will be a plus
