JobPurpose
The Head of Faculty Affairs(FA) will be responsible for overseeing faculty-related mattersacross the schools within the College of Engineering (CoE). Thisrole serves as the primary point of contact for faculty affairs(FA) within CoE and ensures alignment with the Dean's strategicvision. The incumbent will lead initiatives in faculty recruitment,culture-building, and space & infrastructure planning tosupport academic excellence and facultydevelopment.
KeyResponsibilities
1. FacultyRecruitment
- Develop and implementfaculty recruitment strategies to attract top-tier talent toCoE.
- Collaborate with school leadership and HRteams to streamline hiring processes and ensure compliance withuniversity policies.
- Establish facultyonboarding programs to integrate new hires into the CoE communityeffectively.
- Oversee faculty appointment,promotion, and tenure processes in coordination with relevantstakeholders.
2. FacultyCulture & Engagement
- Driveinitiatives to foster a collaborative and inclusive faculty culturewithin CoE.
- Develop faculty engagementprograms, networking opportunities, and recognition initiatives toenhance faculty experience.
- Act as a liaisonbetween faculty members and the Dean's office to address concerns,feedback, and policy matters.
- Facilitatementorship and professional development opportunities for facultymembers.
3. Space &Infrastructure Planning
- Oversee theallocation and optimization of faculty office spaces and researchfacilities across CoE.
- Work closely with theuniversity's estate and facilities teams to plan for infrastructureenhancements.
- Ensure that faculty spaces alignwith academic and research needs to enhance productivity andcollaboration.
4.Stakeholder Management
- Serve as theprimary point of contact for faculty affairs-related queries fromthe Dean and other seniorleadership.
- Coordinate with the schools underCoE to ensure consistency in faculty-related policies andinitiatives.
- Engage with HR, finance, andadministrative teams to align faculty affairs with broaderinstitutionalgoals.
Qualifications& Experience
- Bachelor'sdegree or above in a STEM-related field (e.g., Science, Technology,Engineering, Mathematics) or other relevantdisciplines.
- Relevant experience in facultyaffairs, academic administration, or human resources within ahigher education institution ispreferred.
- Strong leadership and stakeholdermanagement skills with the ability to work across multiple schoolsand departments.
- Excellent communication andproblem-solving abilities.
- Experience infaculty recruitment, engagement, and space planning is highlydesirable.
