As a Chef specializing in Japanese cuisine at Mikkusu your primary responsibility is to oversee the kitchen operations and ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and taste.
1. Menu Planning and Development: - Collaborate with management to create innovative and authentic Japanese dishes. - Regularly update menus to reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. - Ensure a balance between traditional Japanese recipes and modern culinary trends.
2. Food Preparation and Cooking: - Prepare and cook a wide variety of Japanese dishes, including sushi, sashimi, tempura, ramen, and bento boxes. - Maintain consistency in portion sizes, cooking methods, and plating techniques. - Adhere to food safety and hygiene standards at all times to prevent contamination and ensure the safety of customers and staff.
3. Kitchen Management: - Supervise kitchen staffs to ensure smooth operations during peak hours. - Train new employees on Japanese cooking techniques, knife skills, and sanitation practices. - Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and kitchen supplies, and place orders as needed to maintain stock levels
4. Quality Control: - Conduct regular inspections of food preparation areas to ensure compliance with sanitation regulations and cleanliness standards. - Implement measures to minimize food wastage and maximize efficiency in the kitchen.
5. Customer Service: - Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless communication and timely service.Requirements:- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in Japanese cuisine, preferably in a high-volume restaurant environment.- In-depth knowledge of Japanese cooking techniques, ingredients, and culinary traditions.- Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage kitchen staff - Attention to detail and a passion for delivering exceptional dining experiences.
