Sales Engineer - Singapore (hybrid remote)
Azul is hiring a Sales Engineer for the Singapore/ASEAN region. The role focuses on delivering technical wins across opportunities in the assigned territory through pre-sales activities, discovery of business challenges, aligning Azul capabilities as solutions, and demonstrating those capabilities to validate the solution. You will mentor other SEs to become successful in their roles.
Responsibilities- Meet with prospects and clients onsite and remotely to sell Azul product portfolio solutions (new and upsell)
- Conduct presentations and demos at all technical levels (from CxOs to developers) to communicate Azul’s value
- Oversee execution of product pilots and proofs-of-concept (POCs) within a client environment
- Provide expert assistance to other SEs on pilot planning and execution
- Understand and respond to proposals by aligning Azul capabilities with requirements
- Coordinate with additional Azul team members (PM, Engineering, CTO, etc.) to achieve the technical win
- Work with Account Executives on Territory Planning to create pipeline, grow accounts, engage and enable partners
- Build and nurture existing clients for customer success and identify upsell/cross-sell opportunities
- Attend/present at conferences, workshops, roadshows to evangelize Azul and build funnel
- Demonstrate SME-level technical depth and breadth across Azul product suite
- Develop SME-level understanding of at least one key third-party technology (e.g., Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, AWS)
- Continuously increase product/tech acumen through enablement sessions and hands-on learning
- Conduct training sessions and mentor other team members; be a primary mentor to onboarding SEs
- Be a trusted advisor to your supervisor on product, territory, and team concerns
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or IT-related discipline
- Preferred: Master’s or higher in IT or business-related discipline
- Minimum three (3) years of experience in a Sales Engineering role
- Deep understanding of Java architecture and Java-based applications/frameworks (Cassandra, Kafka, Solr, etc.) with SME-level expertise in at least one related technology
- Solid understanding of cloud technologies, providers (e.g., AWS) and container solutions (e.g., Docker)
- Willing and able to travel up to 20%
- Knowledge of sales processes (MEDDICC preferred) and CRMs (Salesforce preferred)
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to interface with groups of varying sizes and levels
- Proven problem-solving, organizational, and ethical professional conduct; able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask across client challenges and requests, sometimes outside normal business hours
