And we are looking to add to our BIZ family The Head will work closely with the Deanery, Heads of Department, Academic Directors and faculty of the school, on the leadership and management of our suite of Masters Programmes. Being the key programme administrator, designated advocate of the needs of the graduate programmes and graduate students, and the initial advisor of matriculating graduate students, you will be responsible to: Formulate and implement strategic initiatives for the suite of Masters of Science programmes Lead a team of high‑performing executive and administrative staff Develop and support an empowering culture of responsibility, independence and inclusiveness in the MSc Office team Create and cultivate a vibrant student community, and provide an enriching out‑of‑classroom experience for our postgraduate students Provide leadership to the overall administration of the unit Planning And Strategizing Shape and drive the long‑term strategic direction and positioning of all the Masters of Science programmes, ensuring relevance, competitiveness, and alignment with global postgraduate trends. Identify and manage strategic risks, emerging trends, and market disruptions impacting postgraduate education. Responsible for leading the team in meeting the admission intake targets for our suite of Master of Science programmes. Work on the positioning and branding of the suite of Masters programmes under charge, to enhance our reputation as the choice university for postgraduate education. Identify key sectors, markets and audiences and develop focused marketing and recruitment strategies. Systematically analyse recruitment, admission and retention information for postgraduate students. Monitor trends in the community or region and adapt strategies as necessary, to improve our admission and standing in the market. Create and cultivate a vibrant student community and provide an enriching out‑of‑classroom experience for our postgraduate students. Establish and implement short and long‑range organisational goals, objectives, policies and operating procedures, to ensure strategic plans and critical processes are carried out in a timely manner. Leadership Provide leadership in the overall administration of the unit managing the Masters Programmes. Inspire and empower the MSc teams through a shared vision of excellence and innovation in postgraduate education. Develop a high‑performing, future‑ready team structure aligned with strategic priorities, ensuring talent depth across functions. Institute performance and capability frameworks that support continuous improvement, innovation and cross‑team collaboration. Ensure cross‑functional synergy between all the units within the MSc programmes office to deliver a seamless student and stakeholder experience. Ensure compliance with university governance, audit and quality assurance frameworks. Lead organisational change initiatives that enhance agility, engagement and service excellence. Work closely with the respective Academic Directors on all aspects of curriculum‑related matters. Oversee the financial management, budgeting and business planning of the unit. Ensure adherence to university’s financial guidelines by the unit. Ensure the operational efficiency of the unit, through the establishment of systems and processes, tapping on synergies and incorporating best practices within the team. Set key directives and guidelines for admin operations and processes for the team, from recruitment and admission, orientation and student activities, monitoring of students’ progress to graduation‐related matters. People Management And Development Cultivate an ethical, cohesive, competent, discerning and empowering work culture. Foster and expand strategic partnerships with corporates, industry bodies and alumni to enhance career outcomes, sponsorships and collaboration opportunities. Represent the MSc programmes office at key global meetings and industry engagements. Collaborate with alumni and career services to strengthen postgraduate employability and lifelong engagement. Coach and mentor staff members in meeting agreed strategic outcomes; support the ongoing learning and development of the team, as part of career advancement and succession planning. Guide, motivate and inspire staff members to perform at a high level and to advance their own career aspirations. Encourage the team to work closely and purposefully with other departments within NUS Business School, to collectively achieve the mission and vision of the school. Partnerships Establish, maintain and develop strategic partnerships that advance the interests and objectives of the school, office, programmes and students. Forge and sustain long‑term collaborations with external stakeholders such as educational institutions, corporate partners, industry alliances, professional bodies and global scholarship organisations. Identify opportunities for mutually beneficial partnerships that enhance student learning, employability and engagement. Represent the MSc Programmes Office and the school in external engagements and collaborations to strengthen institutional reputation and network reach. Develop frameworks to evaluate, manage and expand partnership impact in alignment with the school’s strategic goals. Qualifications Degree from a recognised university; a Master’s degree is preferred. Industry experience: a minimum of 10–15 years in overseeing, managing and administering graduate programmes, in a higher education environment. Proven track record in achieving admission targets, in terms of quantity and quality of students. Leadership: extensive management and leadership experience, including the ability to motivate, lead, set objectives and manage the performance of the team. Strategic thinking: understanding of issues involved in successfully integrating high‑quality teaching, research and business development activities within an academic setting. Able to assess situations to determine the importance and urgency, analyse risks and make clear decisions that are timely and in the best interests of the school. Relationship management: good interpersonal skills and proven success in networking, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others, both internally and externally, to achieve the goals of the programme. Communications: able to communicate effectively with a wide variety of stakeholders, locally and overseas. Appointment job grade will commensurate with the selected candidate's experience.
