Responsibilities
  • Closely monitor regulatory changes and market opening measures pertinent to RMBI and China financial market opening; ensure SCB is a first mover for new business opportunities across corporates and financial institutions by delivering relevant application-based solutions to clients.
  • Promote cross-border connectivity between China and other regions to achieve seamless onshore and offshore collaboration in driving the RMBI business strategy.
  • Actively drive RMB usage with international clients via client meetings/calls, seminars, workshops, webinars, and internalTeach-ins and review meetings.
  • Create marketing content for internal training and external client pitches and engagement (e.g., pitch books, At a Glance, Newsletters, Spotlight, external award submissions).
  • Perform research and analysis on market data and RMBI proprietary data to support sales engagement activities.
  • Support SC industry leadership through awards pitching and projects/taskforces where relevant.
Strategy
  • Use RMBI to amplify the Bank’s cross-border and network capability.
  • Connect corporate and institutional clients to a network offering access to sustainable growth opportunities across Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
  • Leverage the China franchise, global network and product capabilities to capture emerging cross-border opportunities arising from RMBI.
Business
  • Collaborate with partners in Coverage and Products teams and supporting functions to identify incremental RMBI growth opportunities.
Processes
  • Follow the latest regulatory announcements by relevant Chinese regulators (e.g., NFRA, PBoC, SAFE, CSRC).
  • Engage product partners to translate new regulations into deliverable RMBI client solutions.
  • Work with CFCC and COO teams to ensure solutions comply with new regulations; seek regulator clarification when necessary.
  • Maintain disciplined deal pipeline management and raise key risk and regulatory concerns per governance framework.
Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Take personal responsibility for embedding high standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct; comply with applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

  • Identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters in a timely manner.
Key Stakeholders
  • Engage with Coverage and Product team partners to ensure breadth and depth of understanding to drive the RMBI agenda.
  • Engage with Compliance to ensure correct interpretation of new regulations.
  • Collaborate with CIB Marketing and CA teams for RMBI promotional efforts internally and externally.
Other Responsibilities
  • Embed Here for Good and the Group's brand and values in the China Opening Core team.
  • Perform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.
Our Ideal Candidate
  • 7+ years of experience in a client-facing role in Banking.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Banking or Finance preferred.
  • Experience in Sales or any client-facing role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Mandarin or Chinese as the role focuses on China and Hong Kong.
  • Knowledge of business markets, customer needs and risk management.
  • Competence in managing change, planning (tactical and strategic) and client relationship management.
