This position requires a unique blend of deep technical expertise, leadership, and collaborative skills. You will work closely with Digital Platform Leaders and other functional leaders across the organisation to ensure the successful delivery of Gen AI projects that align with our strategic objectives, digital and operational needs.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES* Define and develop a strategic plan and operating framework for Gen AI and lead the team to focus on achieving the plan by delivering transformational products and services which are efficient, effective, of high quality and user-centric for FWD Group; across all markets.* Translate FWD business strategy to digital strategy, policies and governance portfolio to ensure seamless execution and implementation of Gen AI use cases.* Oversee, direct and drive the execution of a series of Gen AI awareness, culture building and insights extraction programs with all BUs in populating the Gen AI use case pipeline, as well as the prioritisation and iterative development of the Gen AI ideas.* Strategic Planning and Vision: Lead the development of the organization's long-term Generative AI strategy, aligning it with the overall business objectives to ensure competitive advantage and innovation in products and services.* Leadership in AI Technology: Stay abreast of cutting-edge developments in the field of Generative AI, ensuring the organization is leveraging the most advanced technologies and methodologies to solve complex problems and create value.* Team Building and Leadership: Recruit, mentor, and lead a high-performing team of AI professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.* Risk Management and Ethics: Oversee the ethical implications of Generative AI projects, ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements and addressing potential risks associated with AI technologies.* Partnership and Ecosystem Development: Establish and nurture strategic partnerships with technology providers, academic institutions, and industry groups to enhance the organization's capabilities and influence in the Generative AI space.* Innovation and Research Leadership: Spearhead research and development initiatives in Generative AI, translating cutting-edge research into practical applications that drive business value.* Product Development and Management: Guide the integration of Generative AI technologies into products and services, ensuring they meet customer needs and exceed market expectations.* Financial Oversight: Manage budgeting and resource allocation for Gen AI projects, ensuring the efficient use of resources and the maximization of return on investment.* Collaborate closely with Digital Platform Managers, IT, Data and other technical leaders to integrate Gena AI solutions seamlessly into existing and future platforms.QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE* Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, AI, Machine Learning, or a related field preferred.* 15+ years of experience in technology development and leadership, with a strong focus on AI and machine learning technologies.* Proven track record of leading the delivery of complex AI projects in an enterprise setting, preferably in the insurance or financial services industry.* Expertise in Generative AI technologies and frameworks, with hands-on experience in implementing scalable AI solutions.* Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage high-performing technical teams across multiple disciplines.* Excellent collaboration and communication skills, capable of working effectively with cross-functional teams and senior leadership.* Deep understanding of software engineering practices, DevOps, MLOps, and Agile methodologies, with specific experience in managing AI development projects.* Knowledge in digital analytics is preferred* PMP or PRINCE2 or Agile certification is preferred.* Generative AI and Machine Learning: Deep understanding of Generative AI models (e.g., GPT, DALL·E), machine learning algorithms, neural networks, and their applications. Familiarity with the latest research and trends in AI.* Knowledge and expertise in various software development and cloud computing platforms, programming, etc., such as but not limited to: Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Cloud Computing Platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) especially those related to AI and machine learning service, Data Engineering and Architecture: Understanding of data engineering practices, data pipelines, big data technologies, and database management systems necessary for supporting AI models, LLMs (foundation/principles/training, etc.
