Dental Lab Technologist, Faculty of Dentistry (NUSDen)

  • Fabricate good quality dental prostheses and appliances according to clinicians' prescription.
  • Familiar with both conventional and current trends in dental lab technology including digital workflows and CADCAM in fabrication of prostheses/appliances.
  • Support dental undergraduate/postgraduate training and supervision in the laboratory.
  • Involve in lab training and support of residents in the graduate programmes of the Faculty.
  • Carry out necessary lab documentations for workflow and accountability.
  • Maintain lab supplies inventories and equipment maintenance records.
  • Support lab safety including updating SOP and risk assessments for lab procedures and operation of equipment and complete required safety training.
  • Improve quality results by studying, evaluating and redesigning processes and implementing changes.
  • Keep abreast of dental laboratory technician job knowledge and skills by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks and participating in professional organisations.
Qualifications And Requirements
  • Advanced Diploma in Dental Laboratory Technology or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a dental or clinical laboratory environment.
  • Experience in laboratory skills, including the preparation and issuance of dental instruments and materials, equipment maintenance, and calibration.
  • Strong organisation skills, with proven ability to manage multiple concurrent tasks, prioritize effectively, and adapt to peak workload periods (e.g., student intakes and term starts).
  • Experience in procurement, inventory management, and vendor liaison for laboratory supplies and equipment.
  • High attention to detail, manual dexterity, and technical proficiency with dental lab equipment, including CAD/CAM systems and 3D printers.
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills, including collaboration with students, faculty and administrative staff, clinicians, and external vendors.
  • Adaptability and willingness to learn new technology and processes, especially as the lab transitions to digital workflows and automation.
