This role is with Auristone , a startup supported by SGInnovate.

Auristone is an Asian-based epigenomic profiling company with data analytics capabilities that spun out from Genome Institute of Singapore (GIS) in 2021 with the vision to be the largest curator of Asian Epigenomic database to drive epigenomic discoveries. We are currently seeking a Laboratory Technologist to actively participate in driving the service offerings in the company. This role will also require the candidate to support the end-to-end workflow for our flagship products EPI-CALL and Signomax.

Responsibilities

  • Handle the receiving and testing of samples/specimens received.
  • Perform Quality Checks (QC) where required.
  • Record all experimental findings in accordance with company regulations.
  • Communicates experimental results, and issues faced, to reporting officer.
  • Support lab inventory and procurement of reagents, consumables, and equipment, when required.
  • Perform routine equipment maintenance and calibration as per SOP requirement, when required.
  • Communicate and cooperate with team members and conform to all rules and regulatory requirements of lab facilities.
  • Prepare documentation, reports, and present experimental findings and data.
  • Any other ad-hoc activities required by the role.

Requirements

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Biomedical Engineering or related field.
  • Work experience: 1-3 years.
  • Technical skills:

a. Proficiency in DNA/RNA extraction from FFPE samples is preferred, but not required

b. Proficiency in Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) workflow and sample library preparation is preferred, but not required.

c. Basic knowledge in molecular biology techniques

d. Proficiency in MS Excel, including basic functions and formulas.

  • Highly organized, able to multi-task, and ability to pay close attention to details. Rigorous execution of experimental protocols is critical.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative manner with reporting officer, to achieve long- and short-term goals is required.
  • Ability to perform basic data analysis and interpretation and perform troubleshooting experiments when required.
