Laboratory Technologist (Comparative Medicine) – National University of Singapore

Duties
  • Performing daily care of animals, including related duties required for the proper care, feeding and housing of laboratory animals
  • Performing daily animal checking and identifying clinical and behaviour abnormalities, to report to veterinary staff
  • Performing daily checking of the facility or equipment, to identify and report issues to supervisor
  • Performing routine cage changing and sanitation
  • Performing general laboratory animal housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Stocking supplies
  • Records keeping
  • Operating equipment including cage and rack washers and autoclaves
  • Receiving animal shipments
Qualifications
  • Diploma in Biotechnology or equivalent discipline preferred or minimum of GCE ‘O’, ‘N’ levels or Nitec
  • Good disposition and not averse in handling of laboratory animals
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Good communication skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Able to work independently and in team settings
  • Basic knowledge of MS Outlook and ability to become familiar with additional computing software
  • Lift up to 15 to 25 kg
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to push equipment or cart weighing 50 to 100 kg
  • Ability to perform rotating weekend duties and after-office-hours duties independently
  • Process a valid class 3 driving license will be an added advantage
