Restaurant Manager: Job Responsibilities 1. Operations Management Oversee daily restaurant operations to ensure smooth and efficient service. Monitor opening and closing procedures, cleanliness, and organization of the restaurant. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards. 2. Staff Management & Leadership Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate restaurant staff including servers, cooks, and cleaners. Prepare staff schedules, manage shift coverage, and approve leave requests. Motivate and coach staff to deliver excellent customer service and maintain high morale. 3. Customer Service Excellence Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times. Address customer complaints, feedback, and special requests promptly and professionally. Build relationships with regular customers and encourage repeat business. 4. Financial Management Prepare and manage budgets, control costs, and maximize profitability. Monitor daily sales, expenses, and cash handling procedures. Analyze financial reports and implement strategies to improve revenue and reduce costs. 5. Inventory & Supply Management Manage inventory of food, beverages, and restaurant supplies. Place orders with suppliers, receive deliveries, and check quality and quantity. Minimize waste and ensure proper storage of perishable items. 6. Menu Planning & Promotion Collaborate with chefs to develop and update menus based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients. Plan and implement promotional activities, special events, and marketing campaigns to attract customers. 7. Quality Control Monitor food and beverage quality, presentation, and portion sizes. Ensure consistency in service and product delivery. 8. Compliance & Safety Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements. Conduct regular safety and hygiene inspections and staff training. 9. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate records of sales, inventory, staff attendance, and incidents. Prepare and submit regular reports to upper management or owners. 10. Continuous Improvement Identify opportunities for improving restaurant operations, customer service, and profitability. Stay updated on industry trends and competitor activities.
