Who are we looking for?

The Purchasing Specialist assists the Senior Purchase Specialist or (multi-site) Purchase Manager in executing the local, site-specific purchase strategy. The role involves working with site management and stakeholders to implement purchase projects, identify savings opportunities, and manage supplier relationships to improve quality and resolve sourcing issues. This role reports to the Senior Purchasing Specialist/(Multi) Site Purchasing Manager and collaborates with Regional Sourcing Managers and local Supply Chain teams.

What will you be doing?
  • Ensure Raw Material Supply Availability
    • Collaborate with operations on material purchasing plans to support production continuity.
    • Process purchase orders and escalate supply issues.
    • Provide data for process improvements in material management.
  • Execution of Procurement Strategy
    • Purchase goods, materials, and services aligning with sourcing strategies, cost, quality, and delivery targets.
    • Identify savings opportunities and drive projects.
    • Provide updates and reports; suggest improvements to operational efficiency.
  • Supply Base Management
    • Manage local suppliers, evaluate opportunities to optimize costs, and ensure contract compliance.
    • Negotiate with suppliers and resolve issues related to price, quality, and delivery.
    • Maintain documentation related to purchase orders and supplier interactions.
  • Other Functions
    • Coordinate with Site Operations, Quality, R&D, and other departments.
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, purchasing procedures, and quality standards.
    • Support supplier audits and risk assessments.

What competencies will you need?
  • 1-3 years of purchasing experience, preferably in a multinational manufacturing setting; chemical industry experience is a plus.
  • Minimum High School diploma; Bachelors in Supply Chain, Finance, or related fields is a plus.
  • Ability to contribute to strategic and operational goals.
  • Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Negotiation skills and experience with supplier relationships are advantageous.
  • Positive attitude, self-starter, team player.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with SalesForce SRM, PowerBi, SAP, or JDE is a plus.
