This methodology aims to empower Product Managers with clarity, collaboration, and capabilities to create value and drive measurable outcomes with a broad stakeholder community.
Job SummaryThe role requires extensive collaboration with group-level, regional and in-country product managers to prepare and roll out the product lifecycle methodology in a manner that ensures it is fully embedded in how product managers deliver in their roles. The ideal candidate will have product management expertise in a large global bank with hands-on exposure to delivering a product across the full lifecycle. Prior experience in project management, training, and organizational change management is a plus points.
Responsibilities Strategy- Collaborate with senior leaders across the bank to secure buy-in for the methodology across their functions.
- Drive planning and execution of the preparatory and roll-out phase of the product lifecycle methodology (PLC).
- Determine and build the cross-functional partnerships needed to embed the PLC.
- Implement a digital-first approach to ensure process and documentation are digitally available to relevant parties during the lifecycle.
- Manage the Consulting Partner relationship and deliverables.
- Advocate development of new technologies and tools for the full spectrum of product groups and products.
- Instill client-centric innovation and competitive differentiation.
- Differentiate through greater focus on product strategy and client engagement.
- Translate client needs into roadmaps with view towards the wider market landscape and advancements, particularly in AI.
- Define clear measures of success that demonstrate progress at each PLC stage.
- Establish a PLC that creates enhanced commercial focus in product management teams.
- Work with Group Product Heads to establish KPIs and OKRs for product managers to drive based on their work items.
- Drive greater commercial returns through improved product and product manager performance management and ownership.
- Improve product profitability, pricing, marketing and distribution, product-market fit, speed to market, and strategic signaling to the market.
- Establish clear standards to ensure quality deliverables across the lifecycle.
- Influence diverse stakeholders, overcome resistance to new processes, and institutionalize new methodologies.
- Manage project budget and timelines as agreed.
- Implement ongoing checks to measure performance per the PLC methodology.
- Develop a skills-based organization to gain operational efficiencies and leverage.
- Accelerate speed-to-market with a standard methodology.
- Reduce time for approvals and documentation, standardize product sets, reduce underperforming products, avoid duplication of development resources, and ensure consistent service quality across channels.
- Lead through collaboration and influence to drive outcomes.
- Lead by example and build the appropriate culture and values.
- Set tone and expectations with risk and control partners.
- Communicate vision, priorities, and progress to foster engagement and motivation.
- Embed required risk and awareness elements into PLC processes.
- Ensure the PLC meets all prescribed governance standards.
- Streamline and simplify approvals to manage risk more effectively; reduce rework and remediation.
- Improve portfolio visibility, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and audit readiness with standardized documentation.
- Engage early with risk and governance functions.
- Display exemplary conduct and uphold the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct.
- Embed high standards of ethics and regulatory compliance across Standard Chartered Bank.
- Lead to achieve outcomes in line with the Bank’s Conduct Principles.

- 10+ years of experience in Product Lifecycle Methodology in a regional or group bank role
- Strong internal and external stakeholder management
- Proactive, positive, with sound decision-making and independent judgment
- Interpersonal skills in networking, influencing and decision making
- Excellent presentation, time management, negotiation and influencing skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
